And to think Steve Bruce hardly played him.
I would love to see him at Man City. He's miles better than John Stones !

As good a footballer as he is Stones struggles with basic defending at times for me,especially in the air. Big Harry would sort that out but it’s whether or not Harry has enough pace or ‘Panache’ maybe for Pep.

Yes - they'll only get better playing together every week though, a football playing centre-back alongside a good stopper like Maguire is the perfect match up, gotta be good for future England teams?
They were all over the place against Holland the other week.

Didn't watch it but I read Stones was all over the place - for myself, I think they should have been on holiday; World Cup 2018, a long, hard season for both after that. They'll only get better and make less mistakes the more they play together ....... probably.

I think Harry is a great defender. It’s no coincidence that he’s now an England regular selected by someone who probably has a better eye for a player than all of us put together.

He’s an English centre half comfortable on the ball. There’s not many of those around. He reminds me of Hummels a lot which is why I’m surprised Liverpool haven’t looked at him to play alongside Van Dijk. Klopp used to rave about Hummels at Dortmund and how important it was to have a centre half that was comfortable on the ball to start that build from the back football.

Stones as a footballer seems to have gone backwards. It may be a confidence thing but he was very poor against Holland.

Mistakes rarely get easily forgotten at the top level. Would of made a quality sweeper back in th days when you needed one.

I don't know. That's the thing with the Allams. No one knows anything with regards to their intentions. While I wouldn't consider myself 'in the know' on current events at the club, I have over the past few years spoken to a number of former employees at the club and one or two who are still there. I've also spoken to various friends of the family. No one has a ****ing clue what their intentions are. I know that Ehab enjoys a lot of the trappings of being a football club owner. A handful of his friends have told me that. But the big decisions are still essentially made by Assem, from what I understand. I think there's an element of vindictiveness to it - but that's just my gut feeling based around the information given. No one has said that to me outright. There is no single event that can happen that will get me excited about them leaving other than me seeing our new owner in the chairman's office on the front page of the HDM. I look for signals regarding their exit as much as the next City fan, but I know that anything I cling on to is, essentially, utterly meaningless. That's my rather bleak assessment, I'm afraid.
I believed you up to your frankly ludicrous suggestion that he has an entire ‘handful’ of friends ;)

one article suggested maguire might be on £280k a bleedin week at man utd. that's £40k a day, even for his days off. he'll be able to have fun on those days off.
