He said he'd move if it was good for him and for the club, I think it'd be easy for Levy and Harry to explain how it would be very bad for the club to sell him at this point. Come to think of it, I don't really believe they are split as this article suggests.
How would we attract the players we want without him and champions league?
I'm guessing that in the minds of prospective player, our hopes of a top four finish are dependent of players like Modric staying in the team.
If Adebayor, Diarra and Samba come in, or we reinforce these positions with players of similar quality, we begin to look strong in comparison to all 4th place contenders. I believe Levy has learnt from the Berbatov and Carrick sagas and won't repeat similar errors. There really is no current need to sell Modric.
