So he's just been picked for the Euro 2020 Team of the Tournament.
That probably means he's amongst the best English defender since Bobby Moore?
It's incredible to see. Definitely a sense of pride watching him. Who'd have thought it?

Maybe not, if you factor in the huge increase in Sky and other broadcasters money.
I’m sure it was OLM or someone in the know said Leicester fully expected and were prepared to pay £10m more. So £27m - which would have been a better reflection of his value.

Leicester would have paid more, but in the end we got over £27m for Maguire, which ended up being decent money for him based on where we and he were at the time.

Weren’t they initially expecting to pay £27m plus add ons? The £27m you quote above must include add ons and sell on to Man United?

The original fee was £12m + £5m in add-ons (which were triggered), then we got another £10.2m when he went to Man United. Leicester were apparently expecting to pay significantly more than the £12m fee we agreed, but if we're writing a list of the worst deals we've done, Maguire's wouldn't be on it.

I agree on worst deals. We’ve had some shockers.

So we will end up with 27m from the Maguire sale and with Bowen we may end up with over 20m and we have no money.
****ing piss take

Who says we have no money?

Ok. I'll bite.

The accounts do. Unless there is to be a marked shift in the borrowings column this year, we still owe the parent company 40 odd million ish. The parent company upon which City are dependent to continue as a going concern.

That's common place across the business world, it doesn't mean we have no money. I can't remember which thread it was but TOM explained it pretty well recently

Yes he did. a bailiff telling us he was trying to find a buyer for a company.

Debt is easier to carry than ever before with such low interest and income will rise in the Championship, we won't be bottom of the solvency table.
