... are Look North reporting on them for?

I always tune into the news, to keep in touch with 'home', and keep hearing about Harrogate Town in the sports section.

I didn't really notice at first but it's really getting on my nerves now tbh. I can't remember them being mentioned when they were shyte and why would they be, they're 20 minutes from Leeds aren't they!

That's just a guess but it's about right iirc, they're about 2 hours from Newcastle while Berwick's about an hour ... I can't remember them getting much of a mention despite them being as Northumbrian as Newcastle.

Have we now kidnapped Harrogate and made them 'adopted Geordies' like Wor Pavel?

Perhaps it's me but it just doesn't sit right tbh.
 
Only link I can put together is Paul Thirlwell is either asst manager or 1st team coach. Not exactly a credible reason for featuring them so much.

I go to SAFC matches with his dad. Thats got nowt to do with the post I jsut thought I would mention it <laugh>.

My dad said exactly the same today, York is closer so I wonder why they are not reporting on York too. Look North (Yorkshire version) don’t give a **** about Sunderland or Middlesbrough for that matter. Then again they don’t even report on Hull. The Harrogate reporting is just plain strange.

I think we ended up with Carlisle in a TV prisoner exchange scheme, no one wanted them or Hull so we had to choose one or the other.

Carlisle is much closer to us than Manchester and Scotland don't want them.

Out of interest I recently realised Edinburgh is further west than Carlisle, wtf!

Fun fact: they’re the English Football League team that’s ground is furthest from any other. Really struggled wording that :emoticon-0107-sweat not actually sure it makes sense

I know but I can't remember many news stories regarding Harrogate.

Look North (Yorkshire) cover Harrogate and report on the football club.

I'd just prefer 'our' channel to use the time to report on local clubs, they seem to have just jumped on the Harrogate bandwagon.

There's more than one "look north" covering yorkshire - one broadcast from Hull and one from Leeds. Perhaps you've started receiving the "other" one?
