I'm not saying your concerns aren't valid - everyone's opinion is - and yes, the worst could happen. I tend to veer on the side of blind optimism I know but I'm happier with our team than a month ago. A couple more in would have been great but it's not to be but I think we'll pull through with what we've got - a little bit more skill and a little bit more steel. Allardyce needs to keep kicking Lens' butt, that would be an enourmous help as would someone telling AJ he has the chance of an England recall as that's the only time he'll play well. Watmore's hatrick has hopefully done him the world of good and hopefully the new boys will really want to try to prove a point as will Borini fighting for his place. A lot of hopefullys but you take your choice as to which scenario is more likely. Probably somewhere inbetween.Of course every team has a worst case scenario, but other teams have taken steps to make sure it doesn't happen, we haven't. That's my point. Thread is called happy? I'm not and that's why. Same as the end of the summer window when I wasn't happy with the depth of the defence, here we are going into the last 15 games with the worst defence record in the league. I think my concerns are valid and I've read nowt that's assured me.
We had a loan left, we'd freed wages. Looks like cost cutting to me. Preparing for relegation.
To a certain extent as well we have to rely on other teams being rubbish. I like Norwich as a club but I just can't see that they're that good, certainly not streets ahead of us - flattering to decieve I think is the expression. What's so good about Bournemouth, Newcastle and Swansea as well. Newcastle spent big - yep, they did in the summer too - that's got them a whole 2 points above us at the moment and they're likely to give us 3 in a few weeks time.
Ifs and buts but I'm comfortable, not ecstatic. Not downhearted though - we will live to fight another day.
