It just shows that championship football isn't financially viable for anyone! The only clubs that seemed to run on any sensible budget have been relegated in the last 2 seasons

God knows how much wolves lost last year.

True -

Cardiff City Wage as a proportion of turnover 190% - Promoted
Hull City Wage as a proportion of turnover 152% - Promoted
Palarse Wage as a proportion of turnover 130% - Promoted
Leicester City - Wage as a proportion of turnover 133% - Promoted this season
Peterborough - Wage as a proportion of turnover 62% - Relegated

Bristol City was shocking as well, to loose that much money and still be relegated

If leeds can't make money it this level what chance have the rest of us got?

The figures are from 2012/13 season, before Duchatelet.

Millwall had a big boxing exhibition in Wembley that season and more TV matches which would have boosted turnover.

£35m debt possible, but I think at least £15m of that is not payable unless Charlton reach the Premier League or interest-only. I think the losses since the Baton 2010 thing were £6.5m, £8m and whatever the loss was for the Parky/Powell season

Well I should probably warn you I'll be just fine. No offence to you, don't waste your time.

It was exactly how they did it to Sir Chris as well Nick <ok> The new owner has absolutely no class!
That's right, it was a brief statement that "Chris Powell has left the club". The OS seems to have become a mouthpiece for RD, which smells a bit rotten, especially considering he's not here much. Reminds me a bit of the way The Dirty Digger's newspapers reflect his opinions.

I think I'm the only person on here even vaguely optimistic about Peeters.

It might be important to mention that my optimism is based on a starting point of having to work within the constraints of the network system and RD's apparent micro-management.

Do Charlton have a press officer/communication officer or anyone running the OS ? If we do they should be sacked. Much of the discontent is the lack of real news or even basic decency from the official site. I would have thought the good news re the pitch & the academy should be headline news, this would at least soften the lack of news on the playing/management side. Silence makes us assume the worse. RD & his team appear to show a total disrespect for the fans, he may have purchased the Club but he seems to now want to kill the heart of it . Why ? Someone needs to have the balls to tell RD he is making a pigs ear of this potential golden opportunity to make himself a very large fortune.

Well his managerial record so far is very good

2011/12 Cercle Brugge Belgian Pro League finished 7th (only 5 points behind Jose Riga's Standard Liege)
2012/13 Cercle Brugge - Sacked in November with Cercle Brugge being rooted to the bottom of the table with only 1 win 3 draws and 14 defeats.
2012/13 Appointed manager of Gent in November on a 1 year deal, but was sacked 2 months without a win https://twitter.com/BelgoFoot/status/286885031937445889
2013-2014 Waasland-Beveren Finished 14/16 with 6 wins from 30 games - Resigned to take the Charlton job
2014/15 Charlton Athletic ................................................................................................................

Why are you not excited about this appointment?
I think Agent Bob will hit the ground running <cheers>

Thank you for carrying out this in-depth research into the new Charlton manager. Shows your dedication to CAFC.

I don't think your stats on Waasland-Beveren are correct. I think it's 5 wins from around 16 in the normal season and then something (maybe 1?) in the 8 or so games they played in the weird split/playoff thing that happens in Belgium.

I think my stats are spot on thank you http://www.espnfc.com/team/fixtures/_/id/13450/waasland-beveren?cc=5739

<applause>..

I know you spent a lot of time compiling those statistics, but he was hired by Waasland-Beveren on the 5th November. That link shows only 22 matches since 5th November, so I don't know where your other 8 matches have come from.

Please update your statistics and report back, thanks.

Whichever way you do it, my stats are the same - or do games get wiped out when a new manager joins <whistle>

RD seems so out of place in the passionate world of football. I mean, what sort of owner prefers to communicate with his manager by e-mail? We don't know what he's really like as a person, he gave one interview in which I found his body language confusing to say the least, "huh?" at the end of every sentence. I don't know anyone who has actually spotted him at The Valley, yet he is calling all the shots, and leaving Katrien to communicate with us, something which I suspect he finds difficult. Has anyone actually seen him? They can do very clever things with computers these days.

Your lucky its emails - the Leeds owner and manager a communicating via letters - as one is based in Miami it is most strange <ok>

You said they played 30 matches this season, then posted a link that says they played 34 matches in the season as proof. Now you're using the performance of Glen De Boeck (1 win in 12 games) as evidence of Peeters' managerial skill?

Keep up Irish - I said they finished on 14th with 6 wins from 30 games - they then played 4 playoff games AFTER they had finished 14/16 <ok>
Never said anything about how many Peeters had been in charge of - just the team stats - not that difficult is it?

My mistake. I thought you were providing relevant statistics, rather than just random information about Belgian teams.

In that case, please confirm how many points Club Brugge scored in the 2010-11 season, and how many goals De Graafschap conceded last season.
