Been a very quiet Christmas here in Abu Dhabi and probably will be a quiet New Year, although I think I just might fire the BBQ up and get the neighbours round. The guy was an ex Navy Seal in the US and a grade A nutter with some amazing stories which gets funnier with every sip of Gin and Tonic. Hard to believe this bloke with his background and all he has done is now teaching 6/7 year old Arab kids... The worlds a weird and wonderful place.

Had the pleasure of meeting a guy a few years ago in the states. Said he was navy special forces so i asked him if he meant seals.

He saidm nah, special boats. We're the guys that go in first and make it safe for the seals to land. Some of the stories he could tell

You do have to wonder just what he is teaching them like!

... or the weirdest one you've ever known.

I've had all kinds but this will probably top, or should I say bottom, the lot.

It'll consist of being in lockdown in an isolated farmhouse near an isolated French village without any neighbours, friends or family. Midnight will arrive at 11pm UK time so I'll probably be a bed by then. I've eaten and drunk so much over Christmas I don't think I could face another feast.

There's no football.

At midnight I'll become persona non grata in France and would need to fill in a mountain of paperwork to be able to live and work here. The MOT on my van runs out on January 1st and the French garage won't do one on a RHD UK registered vehicle.

All I need now is for SKY to realise I'm using my Sky box outside of the UK and cut me off.

Happy New Year everyone, how will yours be <laugh>
All the best to you mate.
You may feel like you are "persona non grata" in France, and i know its no consolation, but you would be made very welcome in snow covered, ice station Consett.
All the best to everyone on here....you have really kept my spirits up during some **** times lately.

Nice post mate and all the best to you and everyone else.
I'm not a big lover of new year celebration either.
I'm happier with cats and dogs and staying in with family lol.
Cheers, mate. Animals ahead of humans every day of the week for me. I've isolated myself and been a loner for a few years now and I've been around animals more than humans. I've learned quite a bit from them and feel like I'm a much better person now because of that.

Well not last night.
Fookin cats were running round the house screaming and knocking shìt off the tops early hours.
Had to chuck the fookas out.
:eek::D

Found the kitten in the back garden/drive the other autumn.
Ended up taking it in much to the annoyance of one of the dogs and mrs lol.
Kept it in for weeks when it was due to be spayed, (female) and it jumped out of bathroom window onto conservatory roof one night ffs.
Got it to vets but too late.
Three kittens later
Found a home for the black and white ones, kept the black male. LoL
He's massive now, bigger than both dogs ffs, very placid, lazy bastid.
Hardly goes out and pesters me to death to stroke the fooka.
The mother quite often growls and spits at him so he ends up chasing her round the house like Tasmanian devils ffs

Happy NewYear to everyone - let’s hope it’s a lot better year in 2021 , as we celebrated last New Years Eve who could have imagined what a terrible Year 2020 was going to be . Wishing all SAFC supporters throughout the World , Health , Wealth ,and Happiness in 2021 .

Thanks to google I know that eggnog is just alcoholic milk shake.
Please ignore any more posts I may make tonight.

All the best to everyone and stay safe. The tosser 2 doors along has been setting fireworks off since darkness fell, I’m under strict instructions to sit down drink my beer and not cause a scene, she’s obviously never drank Stella coz that’s what it makes me do !!

Happy new year all. Me, Mrs S and the bairn normally spend it in a cottage in Amble, watching the fireworks going off in Alnwick then a midnight walk on the beach with the dogs. Stuck here in Ryhope, just as cold but not half as nice.
