And yet Arthur Guinness was an Anglican and staunch Unionist, whose company had a long-time policy of not hiring Catholics or those married to them. Isn't that ironic? I think Americans have done more to push the idea of Paddy's Day as a piss-up day than anyone else. I'd prefer for our patron saint's day to be important to us for said saint's piety and devotion to Christ, and for that day to be about celebrating England's wonderful history and culture.

Also, Anglicanism is unlike other reformed denominations in that Saints still play a big part in faith.

Edward the Confessor was long-time patron saint, whilst St Cuthbert is patron saint of Northern England. They're both a big part of our history.

As for St George being 'generic', I understand why you say that but his value and honour as a martyr, and 'warrior saint' character, make him a brilliant one to have in my humble opinion. George has been a widely-known and respected saint since the Anglo-Saxon period.
And he's Turkish

I’ve gone Belgian
Grimbergen (9%)...delivered to your door for free (and cheap as chips per bottle too)
Cheers to Mr Edelman for putting me onto the good people from Beerwulf <applause><cheers>

Will you get delivered to work in the morning?

I’m loving my new job, don’t start (unless really necessary) until half 10 or even 11 some mornings. Bit of WFH after a heavy night. It’s all good. All that’s missing is a holiday ...

I opened one when I realised I didn’t need my car so could bike to work in the morning!

An electric one I hope? Couple of twists of the pedals before laying back & doing the Sudoku. Don’t get sweaty.

Got a dilemma going on before I down the 2nd bottle.

4 Aberdeen Angus (it is St George’s Day) Quarter pounders in the oven. Do I have four Quarter Pound / Onions / Mushrooms / Tomato / Cheeseburgers or Two Half Pound / Onions / Mushrooms / Tomato / Cheeseburgers? It’s a tough one.

Brioche Breadcakes? Does that make a difference?

2 quarter pounders and 1 half pounder

Eat 1 quarter pounder first

After a couple of bites of the half pounder you can decide which is best (and therefore the one you want to finish with) and act accordingly

Found a jar of Chilli infused Gherkins in the cupboard. Love my wife.

Did the four, then my Fitbit App piped up with a time to recharge & feel guilty message.
