I've looked at the run in and I can us picking 9 points at home but that is leaving it late with our last two home games. Big the way we are playing I can't see us winning next week and that's the worry!

Sadly it's starting to feel the same about MON as it did towards the end of Bruce's tenure; basically that we're screwed and there's no way things are going to get any better unless we make a change.

Danny Graham came from a team that played possession football and tried to pass there way through a team , he would receive decent passes from team mates who know how to pass and move into space. Now he has to learn how to feed of scraps , not easy

Cest - you called me a mag a few months ago when I pointed out everything you have said today and stated you were living in denial. I'll accept your apology today. Really think it could be worth sacking this fella to give us a lift. What a major disappointment he has been.

the major problem for me was before that free-kick. yes we were well on top in terms of possession, but we never once truly threatened their goal or looked like scoring. I just never felt like we'd score when we had the ball, you all know the feeling, and then as soon as they have a decent bit of pressure the rest was inevitable.

as per last week, we need to make our own luck. and ****ing make it count. useless bunch of ****s

The ref played absolutely no part in our downfall today mate, it was the players and the manager that did that.

For the first time this season, there is a large chunk of my belief in Martin that has taken a tumble today, as the performance was every bit as poor as the 15 and 19 point season was and it has left me extremely gutted to admit.

MoN has a mountain to climb imo to get a decent team together even for next year and Byrne has all but said the coffers are bare?

We will survive this season ONLY because there may be 3 worse teams and not because of anything we may effect.

That's just not good enough lads and lasses.

The Norwich game next week is now absolutely massive. We have to take 3pts and if we do, then we should also be more or less safe. Fail to do so and we are right in the mix for relegation. Still need to give him another season and if there's no improvement, then he has to go, no excuses or clinging to his past success.

We will survive because there may well still be 3 ****tier teams than us but I think MoN now has the summer and the first 10 games to save his SAFC career.

If he recruits poorly in the summer then the fans will be on a downer from the first game and 3 or 4 poor results and he will be under the most extreme pressure. TBH, anything other than a win next week and bad defeats against Chelsea and Utd, then a bad derby show and he will be under pressure this season as well.

After today's shambles, I cant defend him anymore.

i wouldn't be so sure about that mate, if wigan win the game in hand we'll be 3 points off the drop zone with 9 games left, yes our goal difference looks healthy but the way we are leaking goals that could soon dissapear. a win and a draw for villa or wigan and thats it.

gotta get 3 points next sunday

I have displayed patience up until today but enough is enough.
The style of football is awful, the tactics are a shambles, and we are weak as piss in practically every department with players not able to do the basics.
Too many Championship players or deluded overrated Premiership misfits.
Contradictory to many claims that he hasn’t had enough time or enough transfer windows. Bollocks! After a year plus we should be seeing signs of improvement unfortunately there isn’t any. His signings have been hugely disappointing and have not strengthened the team one jot. I would argue that N’Diaye although possibly one for the future isn’t nowhere near Premiership quality.
We are now in another relegation battle and after all the money spent at Sunderland over the years it’s a damned disgrace.

thats all well and good cest if it happens, i cannot see him changing his ethics because thats how he sets his team out, fair play if it works, today watching it i thought we were chugging along ,with no need for a change, but i think going back to that same old negativity imo lost us the game.
i know you have backed mo to the hilt so far ,i should know that by your posts to me, i still think that walford
needs a hand from a forward thinking person.
what graham has done is so far very little, lets hope he hits a purple patch soon.
he has had more time already on the pitch than wickham had until xmas and to be fair connor could have done what graham has done .
with all the exits and a bare bones squad if we collect any more injuries with players out of posisition it has got to some of us , but no more rows with you from now on cest, i just wished you could have been right.

this time 2014 we might be overjoyed thats football

Regardless of opinions of our performance, are people on here actually agreeing with the ref that the free kick given whilst we were on the break, which eventually led to their goal, was actually genuine?

I agree with you Al but that was not the reason we lost the game, they were simply better than us, with the aquisitions they made in january they have over taken us in terms of class, look at the attacking options they had on the bench.

mons subs today had us scratching our heads (see match day thread) did you see saggy face trying to shut up shop? No he saw blood and went for the kill!

it has been mons decision to sell campell (scoring for fun) send whickham out on loan (banging them in) Ji on loan (scoring goals) and we had no recognised striker on the bench.

Bad day at the office, no, alot of bad managerial decisions biting us firmly on the buttox imho

IMO It’s immaterial whether it was legal or not, it was another abject defeat. One of too many to be exact. We can’t keep blaming these performances on bad luck or decisions.

Nope, but our lack of incisiveness, or will to win was much more to do with our demise today. Games can 'turn' on incidents, but if we really tried to score and put the game to bed when we were dominating possession we would have got a result. we didn't, and we were turned over very easily in the end. Our attempt to fightback was insipid, and MONs substitutions were completely wrong. Harry got his completely right - he went for it.
