Christ , in the 60’s you spent half term chucking bangers at the enemy , lighting fires and burning potatoes on the fire , raiding the other guys bonfires or setting them on fire , or just chucking bricks at each other . At Halloween you carved a turnip if you could afford one . You had a a small box of Brocks fireworks or Standard or Lion if you were posh . Cannons were pretty loud , sparklers were chucked anywhere and the night was choking with smoke - ah happy days !!!

Soft sods will think that was barbaric behaviour. We did all of those except the chucking bricks.

same at least 10 days off for everyone

Maybe pubs, nightclubs and supermarkets should shut for 10 days to give their staff some time off. Can’t see that being popular. People were in a panic when supermarkets started shutting for 3 days.

not much panicking buying for Architects & Engineers…..the engagement process takes months which enables us to control the work load….but whatever suits your narrative….carry on…..

Who mentioned you? I was on about people having a meltdown because supermarkets are shut for 3 days. What would they do if pubs and restaurants and takeaways all shut for a week or 10 days to give staff time to spend with their families. And airlines.

I suggest you started on some medication. Replying to someone about people having time off doesn’t mean they are referring to them. As I said, love to see what these people cherishing their 10 days with their families would do if pubs, restaurants, takeaways and supermarkets all shut down for 10 days so their workers could have the same. **** all to with what architects do.

I suppose those working at Christmas and new year will get paid accordingly.

Yes, I am sure the staff on the tills at Aldi and Lidl will be getting similar rates on .New Year’s Eve and the people serving you pints on Boxing Day as well.<laugh>
