Last night would have been my nephew’s 47th birthday, we lost him in 2018 aged just 41. Every Halloween he had a big get together on his birthday, fantastic night, lots of food, booze and laughter. Our kids used to love it. Me and Mrs went and put a pumpkin and flowers on his grave yesterday, we do it every year since his passing. Sleep tight Dave we’ll all see you soon.. this is a poem I wrote on the day we buried him. Indivisibly you…for David All sound lay silent the bells stopped but that day knew nothing at all. No wind whistling tree or sounds of honey bee but that day knew nothing at all. Oceans lay as glass ships could not pass but that day knew nothing at all. All Aircraft stood still no visiting thrill but that day Knew nothing at all. Time sat waiting on the very last clock but that day knew nothing at all. We watched you pass feet on snow covered grass on that last day we lost our beautiful soul. Rest in peace David. uncle Norm x
I think that's how it's worked for a while. There will obviously be exceptions, but when we've not decorated we've had no bother, and when we've stuck a pumpkin outside with a candle in we've had plenty of knocks. Which is how it should be I think. We're on Kingswood and it was ridiculously busy last night with people on the streets, but it all seemed to be fairly respectful and harmless.
