Looks like the hacks are reverting to their factory setting...

Manchester United are set to make a sensational £100 million move for Tottenham ace Dele Alli, according to former agent Vincent Rodriguez.

I'm still waiting for someone to redress the balance by making up a story about how Marcus Rashford is growing impatient with his lack of Premier League starts and how Spurs have been monitoring the situation...

That "story" could actually be true though ...

You just have. You need only to add that he's only on £25k p/w at United and that Spurs will treble his wages and that he wants to play with a team with some players who aren't old enough to be his father and you're all set.

I would go with something like ...

The younger Spurs players in the England squad have been telling Rashford during training
meet-ups about how Pochettino develops young English players and rewards them with starts on merit.
Similarly <X> understands that Pochettino has had several reports on Rashfords' attitude
during England / Man Utd training sessions when he is not selected, and has been
impressed with what the reports are saying.

As I have said before, sooner or later some footballer is going to have grounds for
"deformation of character" etc on such gossip, and have money + be vindictive
enough to burn the gossips in court.
Look how much Lamela wants to leave, he's merely flying back to England to join his teammates in training starting tomorrow!

I think there will be some butt kicking if United fail to get into the CL. I mean, that's what all their expenditure has been all about.

It would be better if they got into the CL on merit rather than on the back of hundreds of millions spent and not being allowed to send off their players.

I'm trying to work out what in the name of unholy **** Stan Collymore's latest rant is about, but this is what his argument boils down to...
i.) Liverpool and were wrong for playing a second string side against second-tier opposition
ii.) Spurs were wrong for playing a second-string side against fourth-tier opposition
iii.) Arsenal were wrong for playing pretty much a first-string side against Premier League opposition
iv.) City playing pretty much a first-string side against Premier League opposition proves they have what it takes to compete on all fronts
v.) Chelsea playing pretty much a first-string side against second-tier opposition proves they have what it takes to compete on all fronts

My head hurts.

He's on Talksport. It's trolling.
What can I say to annoy people and attract phone calls?
Doesn't have to make sense or be consistent.

Doesn't do talksport anymore...not sure if he quit like colin murray in protest at sun owners being part owners in talksport (he is a massive Liverpool fan) or if he was ditched for being too annoyibg for even talksport <laugh>

I don't dislike him as much as others seem to, but the one thing to his credit is that he seems to have been binned for some kind of anti-sun owners comment(s).

I did wonder if it had anything to do with the sun... considering his affection for his time in Liverpool and cos he had a column in the Mirror.

Watching the sunday supplement on sky and they are discussing Wengers touchline ban.
Matt Law from the telegraph said that 4 matchline line ban was about right "as he has no previous...well no recent previous".
Went on to say that when Maurinio got a stadium ban it was cos his previous whereas "wenger had no recent previous".
The journalists then spoke about sunday league refs being treated badly including being physically abused so an example needs to be set so Wenger was wrong...and a 4 game stadium ban is "about right for pushing an official".

Would a player get just a 4 match ban for pushing a match official after being sent off?

4 matches and a £25 grand fine is a farce.

The fine should have been over 2 weeks wages minimum (he is reported as getting around £170, 000 per week) and a stadium ban of 4 matches and a further 6 touchline ban.
Di Canio (excuse spelling) ... the self proclaimmed fascist got a 12 match ban back in 1999 for pushing a match official...so why so light on Wenger?

As for no previous <doh>

It was the latter: Talkballs had a contract on the table, but decided to withdraw it and let his existing contract expire.

On the day that the Beeb suggest Bayern Munich are the latest club looking to recruit Dele.....
