Okay, less than 2 weeks before we see the new cars, less than 3 until testing, so how do you think they'll rank when testing is complete.
    I'm going for:

    Ferrari
    Mercedes
    Racing Point
    Renault
    Sauber
    Red-Bull
    Haas
    McLaren
    Williams
    STR

I'd put McLaren and Williams further up as they will be desperate for a good showing and need sponsors. Expect lots of light fuel runs for them early on at least to get some headline grabbing times near the top. I think Red Bull will be further up as well, possibly behind Ferrari and Merc as the Honda is a massive improvement from what McLaren had (or did with it) and in an RBR chassis it should be quick. As for reliability.................

yeah, I did think about Williams and their tendancy to make themsleves look a lot better than they are, as to RBR, they suffer the most reliability due to their design philosophy, I can see the Honda going pop a few times in testing and them dialling it back a bit just to get data.

Will be interesting to see if in the RBR it has similar issues to McLaren with the tighter packaging. Then again, as it could detonate itself in a McLaren within 1 lap of leaving the garage it could not have all been down to just the packaging, but installation issues too as you'd presume it worked fine when on the test bed.

Neither Williams or McLaren can be as bad as last year, surely!?

It will be interesting but Honda and Red Bull have learned lots of lessons so I guess the PU wont go bang in the early days. I think if I were Honda I would start testing with a low state of tune to get the data. As you say tight packaging isn't great for a PU so Honda and RB will want lots of temp data. Not that the track temp will be high and the air will be relatively cold.
It will be very interesting especially as there will be tv coverage. Well hopefully internet coverage as well :)

Wonder what sort of livery Williams will go with this year. They'll be showing off for new sponsors no doubt. I expect Williams and McLaren to top quali times at least. Expecting limited laps for Red Bull, and quiet progress for Ferrari and Mercedes.

    Ferrari
    Renault
    McLaren
    Williams
    Haas
    Mercedes
    Red Bull
    Papa Stroll Racing
    Alfa
    Toro Rosso

Completely guesswork, but Mercedes just pounded laps last year with no effort to put quick times in. I suspect TR will be running a similar program checking Honda reliability. McLaren and Williams need sponsors, Renault need to prove to new bosses that they look quick.

Seeing that car are already being unwrapped, can we get a separate thread to post what we think of the new design and livery etc and how does it compare with 2018?

From the point of view that teams will be definitely be sandbagging (and that Red Bull won't want to look bad if the Honda isn't performing or reliable) I think it will look like this...

    Ferrari
    Red Bull
    Mercedes
    Renault
    Haas
    Racing Point
    Torro Rosso
    McLaren
    Alfa Romeo
    Williams

But the actual pecking order will be more like this...

    Ferrari
    Mercedes
    Renault
    Red Bull
    McLaren
    Haas
    Racing Point
    Williams
    Torro Rosso
    Alfa Romeo

It's fairly simple, just click on Post New Thread and then fill out the headline field and the text field. As to my 'technical ability', you haven't seen how many polls I've had to get Bando to delete.
