Of our last three kits, two have been distinctive and one has been classic Saints. Can't see this Aberdeen/Bristol City kit happening. Cortese's too urbane, a 21st Century Italian Epstein. I have full faith in him not to green-light any variation on the aberrations seen above.
Hate that white bit on end of the sleeves. Would rather have the white stripes extended to end of sleeve or (at a push) all white sleeves, but not sleeves that look like someone's Mum has mended them with a patch. Black second strip will be smart but how visible is it....surely it's better if a player can see a flash of a bright colour out of the corner of his eye. Unless they hope the opposition won't see us either....like stealth bombers. Red Arrows at home...Stealth Bombers away.
Nicola, if he lives up to his national stereotype, should have great taste when it comes to clothes and I really can't see anyone with a modicum of good taste thinking that strip was anything but appalling. If my beloved Saints turned out in that abomination of a football strip I think I might burst into tears and have to leave the stadium. Be honest. It is absolutely bloody awful.
Please don't let us have anything like that ****e, its just rude. If we have that, we might as well be blue next season. Its that bad.
I'd have thought you'd be more upset at your old approach of "mindless idiot fans will love anything the club throws at them" being proven bullshit by everyone hating this.
People often hate something, then they see it on other people and decide it looks okay. Hope we don't go for that one, though.
ahhh, well people often speak big on the internet, but then buckle under peer pressure and their weakness to want to fit in & be subservient to the club, you know this.
I think I've mentioned before of the importance of the good looks of a football team [I'm not going to trawl through all 32 odd pages to find out if I posted it here] and since Cortese has been at the helm we honestly haven't had a really bad looking kit. I have confidence [not the utmost because his taste may be different to mine] in him that he'll see the £s in revenue diminishing greatly should Saints adopt a truly ugly kit. Personally, I don't care whether Addidas demand that Saints should follow a template of colours, this isn't their football team, and they can disappoint plenty of fans from other clubs. Just not ours.
Have they suggested that we follow a template? Thats ridiculous! Whats the point in having a bespoke kit manufacturer. Nicola may have well just gone online and ordered them from a sportswear wholesaler. "Click on the colour you want, attach your badge of choice here for an extra £5"
The talk, and examples from other clubs adopting Addidas gear, is that of an Addidas template of material. In various examples on this thread there have been colour changes to kits around the sleeve area which simply look ugly and, in all honesty, I can only assume it is Addidas trying to be different and corporate-image-style at the same time. At no time has anyone suggested that Cortese has been told he must adopt this template, so calm yourself, but the various examples are out there, and people are bound to fear the worst for various reasons. One of which would be that we would be stuck with a team who look crap, in their main strip, for at least two seasons.
