I seem to have missed a game. Elfs, did you go to two matches in one day?

Our IT Wizzkid :emoticon-0169-dance has brought to us a classic old skool ground.

Aldershot is only 5 minutes by train from Farnham, my destination for that days entertainment.

The last time I went to Aldershot was around 1984 and it is basically untouched since.

Aldershot is VERY different from Farnham, a very middle class England town.

It started off so well.

I spoke to the Secretary of Snodland on the night before, he said that the pitch was fine and would confirm with me the following morning before I set off.

I based myself at Clapham as there were two other games I could have gone to. Snodland got back to me to say all was well and that the storms had not materialised and the pitch had passed an inspection.

On getting to the ground at 14.10 I could see the officials looking at the pitch but I was not too concerned. At the tea hut the Secretary was there to then be joined by the officials who said the game had to be called off on the basis he did not think the game would finish IF the storms picked up.

At this point I was not a happy bunny, but to be fair around 20 minutes later the winds were worse than my arse on a Sunday morning, he was right.

Even though I had been to KSports last season I was not going to waste a day, I had to get a game in !!

KSports is only 5 minutes by train from Snodland so I made kick off with about 2 minutes to go.

Tbf to the referee at Snodland, the wind was blowing more than the hot air that comes out of our Moderator's trap on here. Snodland would never have lasted. The game ended 0-0 with the KSports keeper having a blinder.

3 Heinekens £10.50

Advance note: Some pictures seem to have got mixed up on my phone.
I've done my best to sort them back out, but please let me know Elfs if some of the pictures don't match the game in the post title...

:emoticon-0137-clapp Mr Lardiman, one day you must come along to enjoy a day of grass roots football.

Eynesbury play in the village of St Neots, unfortunately due to work in the morning I was not able to see the village before the game. A walk from the station was through industrial units and bland local authority estates.

Potton won this game 3-2, dominated by their attaching right midfielder having an absolute blinder. He should be playing at a higher level.

This was another weekend of the storms, fortunately this one was never in doubt, the pitch was in better condition than the rest of the ground! Having said that this was a cracker, it was like a rubbish dump, but with loads of character.

This was a top v bottom clash and Saffron Walden coasted this and 5-0 flattered Sawbridgeworth.

What are you chaps talking about? There can't be any football on at the moment.

I will post another trip from the archives later this weekend...

@Ponders Revisited and me were due to go to Eastbourne United this weekend.

I have been drinking and spouting the usual s***, and the good man is humouring me.

Thanks in advance for the forthcoming photo reports.

Disappointing they didn't produce a programme.

I missed the 4th, I went to get a beer..........................

Many on the roads getting down here?
I set out super early, so I missed most of the traffic. Stopped at Premier Inn at East Grinstead for a bumper brekkie - and still managed cod and chips down the front earlier this afternoon!

Finished up 4-1.

I'm going for a ruby now.
