I like the big fella, but not sure he's got this right. Maybe it's part of the bbc's there's 'no negative', 'no ones to blame' reporting style. Negative is the new positive.
Are +ive about that?

The Humber Derby was a big deal back in the day. Then GY overtook us and left us in there slip stream for a few years. They were appearing at Wembley in various competition when we could only dream of it. Someone once scrolled on the bog wall behind the West Stand at Boothferry Park 'if Grimsby can do it why can't we' ? It was whitewashed over within hours.
There isn't a lot of love for us or the city of Hull over the river. They seem to blame Hull for everything that is wrong across there. We get everything and they get nowt seems to be the the ready made excuse they trot out.
Worked there for a year and didn’t encounter it at all. That's all true, but I can't be arsed to hate Grimsby or Scunthorpe these days.
They don't matter. It would be like kicking a puppy. Good luck to em I say.

That's what the Grimberians say too Sound of Jethro Tull Living in the past....playing in the background.A legacy of Humberside County Council.....
Burns is an utter clown and has been for years,he should never comment on any sporting issues as he knows nothing, but he sure likes to think he does... Stick to chatting to the old ladies burns on your "award winning mid morning show"Dave Burns was bigging them up on his radio show all morning yesterday. He thinks being relegated from the Football League is a positive move ?
Don't remember him thinking the same when City were relegated from the Championship last season but for some reason a relegation for GY is seen as a good move and only good can come from it, according to him.

John Tonker ain't it.Is Charles Ekberg still the radio reporter for them?

Good people lot like us
I thought he was building a new ground round the corner? That was four or five years ago? Maybe more?I've lived and worked among Gy & Scunny fans for more than forty years - the majority of 'em are sound; I got lots of good natured piss taking and banter when they were both above us and a lot of ''well dones'' and ''you're gonna enjoy that'' from the same piss takers after Wembley '08 I hope their ownership gets sorted out and they can start rebuilding.
Despite not going thru' the trapdoor things are looking a bit more ominous for Scunny - they owed c.£11 mill to their owner, he's sold the club and ground to another company that he owns for the £11 mill he's owed which now leaves Scunny with bugger all assets if/when/should he sell their ground to property developers who are very active in the Glanford Park area.

He had a long chat with Burnsy the other morning. That no longer appears to be on the agenda. It all sounded complicated. I thought things sound iffy for them, some who phoned in thought things could be promising. To be fair he is upfront and didn't dodge any questions.

That's a very bold statement....John Tonker ain't it.
Charles Ekberg. Makes Peter Swann sound like Enstein.
Didn't the joker at massive fc do something similar, sold the ground to another one of his companies, sounds dodgy, though he (swann) may have done it the correct way, assuming there is one.I've lived and worked among Gy & Scunny fans for more than forty years - the majority of 'em are sound; I got lots of good natured piss taking and banter when they were both above us and a lot of ''well dones'' and ''you're gonna enjoy that'' from the same piss takers after Wembley '08 I hope their ownership gets sorted out and they can start rebuilding.

Women ehLike Barca says, the new ground is off the cards and has been for awhile - Swann, since his divorce, has been trying to flog the club and its assets to try and recoup his losses, this latest move is him recouping money. The Scunny lads I drink with are quite worried by his moves, they've gone from being a club with ****-all debt and owning a mortgage free stadium to being ''potentially'' homeless - they quote past acts of ****ishness which have certainly unsettled the fans. TWT as a wise man once said.
A relatively general statement I'd say. Nothing special. That's a very bold statement....
