Crikey, how much would that cost to pay him off ?
Not sure how it works, it might be reduced if he finds another club, but he is entitled to the full whack by law. I suppose it depends on whatever they can negotiate and how much Grigg wants to play football.

I agree will all of that.

I also believe we need to show the young lads that there's a possibility of involvement even if it's a place on the bench.

If we're winning 4-0, as we were at Lincoln, bring a teenager on and just tell him to go nuts and play his best game.

It will help stop them looking at other offers as much as anything.

Very true, nothing can be more demoralising for our U23's than seeing what has happened here over recent years, I cant remember anything more up-lifting than our display motivated by Robbie Stockdale, in which JoS symbolically handed over the armband to Bali Mumba, I thought it was the beginning of a new era, and it was, but not the one I and many others had hoped for, and still do.

His contract is up in June 2022, which just shows how bad his signing was, but I would still settle his contract and get rid.
Just seen that.

FFS - We really have been utter amateurs in the recruitment department for years now.

This is one thing I'm really hoping this new ownership group nail - getting our shambles of recruitment teams working properly.

if he is looking at 9 months out then i think it would be a good call to get him in and terminate his contract...as one season contracts are normal in the lower leagues it gives us another contract we can have on the wage bill...besides the fact that we really need someone who can score goals i guess an injured non goal scoring striker will not really be missed.

I would pay the bastard weakly (pun intended) and if the work shy ****er tries to sign for another club before he has finished milking us, they pay his whole salary, slopey shouldered ****ing ****house, goes down with Rodwell as just a ****ing leech

problem there mate every club would be able to see how ****e he is, right now i don't think we could give him away, not on the money he gets for this league. just think if we had a clause where he got a basic then x amount per goal , that would make the twat move, and i cant see that in the present climate we don't try and negotiate clauses like that in deals. If they think they are good enough it should be no problem

Even at 5k a week it’s almost 400k and he’s probably on closer to double that. It doesn’t particularly help either as the salary would still count towards the cap but would leave a space in the squad. Most effective financially is to just keep paying him but leave him out of the salary cap squad. Frustrating as literally paying him for nowt but if we can’t shift him it’s either that or he gets paid and takes up a squad place.

should also get a second opinion on the injury, if he is milking it take the twat to court

If it was as simple as that, Rodwell would have been taken to court years ago.
Rodwell was a load of different injuries, this is one injury for 9 months, i take it he will be insured, and we all know what twats insurance companies are, if they think he is pulling a fast one they will get sports doctors to check him which they are entitled to by law. Same rules apply to the man in the street as well.
or do you have a different track of thinking mate

Apparently he had a problem with his knee when at Wigan, perhaps we should have picked this up when he had his medical
Or maybe we did and still took the risk as Donald was so desperate to buy him.
thanks for that heads up mate, to date i have not heard that, Donald did the buiss himself on this one so i heard, 4 mill for a league 1 player is stupid, now with the breaking news today from Wigan, what goes round comes round they could end up going out of Business fire sale on players shortly, servers the greedy twats right

Just for reference I attach a link to a BBC article which mentions a knee injury back in 2017, unfortunately I didn't find anything more specific but I'm sure there is more info out there.

Just makes you wonder how thorough our medical was, perhaps we can take legal action against the doctor as that worked so well in the case of Alvarez

5k x 52 = 260k ( not near 400)
Just saying like.
