Now I know that this is something that could be debated until the cows come home but since we play at Elland Road this weekend I thought that I would bring it up as for my money it was Roy Wegerle's superb goal in 1991 when he received the ball near the touchline and then dribbled his way through almost the entire Leeds team before hammering the ball into the back of the net. Was goal of the season and quite rightly so. The clip is available on YouTube if you want to reminisce.

Lots of stunning individual and team goals, but for me this is the one - great move, great finish, against top class opposition, first day of the season - the moment we knew something special was happening. Goal of the season 1975-76.

Guys, Gareth Ainsworth v Rushdonand Diamonds. Absolute blinder of a volley from about 30 yds. I think that even beats Sinclair's bicycle kick.

Agree with this sb and for all the reaons you mention. Wegerles was a great individual goal but this was the one.
Great goal, I seem to remember a hush around LR the split second after it went in as no one could believe what they saw, then of course pandemonium.
I had a great view of it from the paddock. I was right in line with him and the goal.

That was a great goal. Goal of the season. As Remy's last season. But these and many of Adel's beauties all for me fall behind one I remember Stan scoring right in fornt of me and thousands in the Loft one afternoon. He had 2 defenders in front of him on the edge of the box right side, he dummied one way then the other and had one of them lying on his back, then dummied back again and left the other on the ground, then flicked the ball and himself over the spead-eagled bodies and slotted it past Shilton into the corner. I think with Shilton in goal it was Stoke but not sure - have never seen or found that goal afterwards, it sits in it's majesty somewhere up in my hard disc !
Can't remember who it was, but I'm sure I saw someone score from near the halfway line, out on the left in a league cup game against chelscum in the 80's.
