Francis vs. Liverpool was an amazing team goal That was sharp passing before sharp passing became cool
Nobody will remember this, but Pacquette vs Plymouth in 02/03 to draw 2-2 was a sublime volley into the top corner from inside the box in the last minute. Goatey you were probably there. Far from our greatest goal but for some reason in my mind it was incredible. Furlong away at Sunderland massively underrated also.
Thanks for posting Farflung. That 3rd goal was something else. Did you notice the home fans clapping. I couldn't imagine that happening in this day and age. Even when we scored the penalty, people behind the goal were clapping.
The crowd reaction for Pacquette's was special, as was his celebration. Shirt off, jump in the crowd. Old school.
We must of been watching very close together mate. I too had an almost perfect view from the paddock. IMO, the second greatest goal I've ever seen live (The greatest being Michael Owens goal against Argentina, France World Cup 1998. I still dream about THAT goal )
great clip, there's a bit of interplay after that 3rd goal (see how far Stan sprinted for that - he was defending the free kick at the other end) between Delve, Venables, Bowles and Francis that almost results in another goal. As good as Barca in my book.
Mickey Leach's volley in that Wolves games was something else, a master class on how to strike a ball.....
And not one mention of Roy Wegerlie against the MASSIVE Leeds?
this is the clive allen goal i was on about earlier...what a delight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUX0hR-3bmM
This thread has bought back so many fond memories. The winner surely is Sinclairs wonder goal. No other player would have attempted it. If memory serves me right he tried the same again the following season and hit the crossbar!
