How do you think he's doing? I think he's been solid as a rock. Seems to pick the right pass, cracking delivery. 4 assists in 5 game and looks like a real leader. I'm enjoying him being back. Bossed the midfield next to Cats against Gillingham.

Thought the 1st couple of games we had wasted our money. No better than McGeauch or Catts. Jump to the Gillingham game and yep it finally clicked. With Catts there he had more freedom and had a great game.
A big plus is deffo the corners. Been absolutely sh*te until leds came on board. Now we have a chance every time he puts one over.

Some fans worried that his legs had gone but not seen any signs of that.
He didn't play a lot of matches at the Boro so was going to need a bit of time to get up to speed, as has been said he knows how to deliver a pass/cross and were beginning to benefit from that.
Having Catts beside him on Tuesday seemed to help his game, but there'll be tougher tests than Gillingham to face so we'll have to wait and see.
Overall pleased with him - he's definitely a step up from this division.

He's pretty much getting an assist a game which is great going and after a bit of a rusty start has settled in nicely. I didn't see the Gillingham game but it sounds like he's got a natural understanding with Catts and maybe we've finally found our first choice CM pairing.

If such a time arrives that we're motoring in the league and banging the goals in, typically at the back end of the season, he'll be loving it and pulling all the strings. Quality player.

A calm and cool head whenever he gets the ball.
Picks the right pass, esp shorter ones. some of his rakers don't always make it to their man but his deliveries from corners are top notch.
Looked very good alongside Catts. Could be a great partnership

    This.

If we go up he might do a good job there in the Championship with his experience, but I'd like to see him played further forward for the rest of this season.

    Nailed this.

I was all for the signing but he looked like he was gonna be no influence.

Now, every single game his influence is growing.

Great addition, great lad, great when people live and die for the shirt.

as soon as the story dropped about him, i wanted him back, why? he is Sunderland through and through as proven in his pay drop to come to us. Yea he is a bit rusty, but another few games and the proof will be there for all to see. a credit to the club
