Been up to the ticket office today. Steel work is up to 2nd storey for what I take to be the new "players facility" in the corner between the grandstand shell and the Barn Park End.

Green Taverners new Suite I think notDistant.....new watering hole and social Club that they are paying for.... over £1 Million that they have got together to build on PAFC land. This has all gone up this week....of course the concrete footings have been dug out and concrete poured during either side of the holiday.

The new players changing rooms....showers, toilets....laundry room etc are squeezed into the gap between this build and the Barn park stand and this also is where the players tunnel will be for entry to the pitch for the teams....the GoS photos. hundreds of them since early last year give quite a comprehensive oversight of how the new Home Park is being developed.....good to click on to Cam 1 and 2 to watch the work proceeding day by day.

PS.....Good picture notDistant...has that been taken with your new phone ?

Picked up my Portsmouth tickets earlier. Hive of activity with one truck-mixer unloading right behind the grandstand at the Life Centre/Devonport end and another trundling somewhere down towards the old ticket office/shop area.

The new shop is open from today as is the new ticket office, where the staff looked as pleased as punch in their new brighter and cleaner surroundings. There's a picture of the ticket office interior on the club website although it's been taken with the security shutters closed!

I see from the webcams that all the steelwork that will support the new lower grandstand is in. The car park is now closed to allow delivery and storage of the heavy materials.

Yes...webcam 2 (in daylight) gave us a good view of how that has developed today......so will they continue finishing that part of the job....or start on the roof....they can't start any Grandstand internal work until they make that area water tight.

The next stage is the steelwork for the roof and the roof itself, starting in March.

The concrete terracing and seats will start to into the new lower grandstand area before the end of this season but the delay caused by the discovery of contaminated ground hasn't been hauled back yet.

The grandstand itself is expected to be handed over to the club in the early autumn after which the club will do its own internal fit, so probably it probably will be open for business by the first round of the FA Cup!

The Green Taverners bar is expected to open in late June and the new changing rooms will be used from the start of the 2019/20 season.

I see from the latest update that it will soon be time for someone to go inside the grandstand and cut away the old steelwork that holds it up.

The new steels are bigger but farther apart so opening out the space.

    Any volunteers?
