http://www.teamtalk.com/news/exclusive-sunderland-facing-hammer-blow-over-loan-striker-grabban Probably be a load of ****e - but I'm bored at work.
Hopefully just the **** stirring mag media. Hes hardly kicked a ball for the them in his second spell and it would be a piss take for them to recall him now. He's 29 has no future at Bournemouth. There best bet is to leave him be hope he gets 20+ goals for us and teams will be queing up for him in the summer and they'l recoup what they paid for him
It would hardly be a piss take. Defoe hasn't fired for them and they're short of goals, why wouldn't they call up an in-form striker?
I cant see this being true. Theyve got Callum Wison, Josh King, Afobe and Defoe. Why would they want Grabban back?
If we're paying some of his wages(and we are) they'll have to pay to get him back. We have a financial contract for his services this season.
Precisely. They have a better striker who is currently only 4th choice. He's played 18 games in the Premier league for them and not scored once. Scoring in the championship is a different kettle of fish, he wouldn' Improve them at all and would struggle to make their bench. Callum Wilson is just back from injury and has hit the ground running and already has 4 goals at an average of a goal every 88 minutes. Joshua King got 16 league goals last year so they aren't going to ditch him for a player they've farmed out on loan to the championship two years running. They'll be loving his form here and hoping it continues
My fear about this is not that they recall him to play, but because they’ve been sounded out by someone willing to buy the lad. Grabban's stock is high and a championship club would pay £10 Million in a blink for him in January being that he’s on 10 in 11. That’s money that Howe could use to strengthen as they are a bit short and under threat for me, patchy and could easily slump.
If they are seriously going to recall, lets hope that they are having the decency to inform us about their intention NOW - not on Jan 31st.
He's 29 so I doubt they'd get £10m and I'm not convinced any championship club will be spending that on a player in January. The two clubs linked are Wolves and Fulham. Wolves are getting promoted regardless so it would make little sense to spend big on a striker who they'd need to replace in the summer. Fulham wouldn't have that money unless they sell Ryan Sessegnon who I dont think will move till the summer. Just read Bournemouth may have a recall option on the loan which is a concern
29 is no age, it’s the later side of peak, and I’ll be amazed if less than 6 Championship clubs spend that come January! £10 Million is not far from going rate for a decent Championship striker now, many have gone for far more. Teams with money, Villa prime example, aren’t getting a return from strikers. I hope there’s nothing in it, but your reasons not to happen make absolutely no sense to me mate!
True.. Fulham paid 12m for McCormack when he was 29 3 years ago and Villa paid the same fee to them last year for him.
Yep. And if we paid that for Grabban now the only shock would be Ellis putting the money up, there’d be little surprise at the fee. £10million for maybe 10-12 goals that earn you around £160million if you go up? Course people would pay that.
Would be a massive kick in the teeth this mind, we're absolutely short up top as it is even with Grabban. Wonder if there's a clause for us to buy. If there is I bet that it's not £10m - bet even Bournemouth are surprised at how well he's doing to be fair.
I was under the impression that it was a season long loan. Nobody, to the best of my knowledge, mentioned a recall if things were going tits up. Its f*cking b*llocks from a w*nk paper.
My understanding is always that if there’s a loan fee paid it’s effectively a contract, if not it’s 7-day recall. My concern is that I very much doubt we’d have paid a loan fee, if anyone knows this information that would be grand, losing Grabbers would be a big kick in the newly relaxed bollocks.
