Agreed totally reasonable response and I think maybe it's only of late that my thoughts that have been posted have crept in! Will say one thing he may have turned our club around and worked some wonders but I certainly wouldn't want to be an agent in his boardroom...More feared than Sir Alan Sugar
This mist be the Neil WarnCock who slatted Saints off when we sacked his mate Pardew, when he had absolutely not heard the two sides to the coin. He is unfortunately very unprofessional and a tad uncouth.
Very short sighted fella, is Warnock, me thinks. Seems to be always bad mouthing others in football that he, at some stage, may or may not have to have dealings with again - whether it be the FA, officials or other clubs / managers that he may want to do business with in the future. Does he not want to try and win favour with anybody in his already considerably difficult plight to keep his side in the top flight?
âAt Southampton we had a chairman who was talking to us for weeks and weeks, and Iâm delighted Kaspars has now gone to Reading. Itâs a good club.â ---------- Yes Colin, you are always good for soundbite chuckle aren't you? You disrespectful old man you..... Gorrks lives in West London, Reading are roughly in the same area (20 minutes by train). Signing for them shows a lack of ambition by Kaspar. He doesn't have to move home, he has 2 kids age 4 & 6, one of them just starting in Foundation class in London. Reading are a very unambitious club, despite a mega rich owner and with no debts, they fail to do anything except be also rans in the Championship. They sell any player that becomes valuable at the drop of a hat. Gorrks and Reading, going nowhere together.
Well, to be fair its not like he's ever going to come in for a player we value, is he. Don't get offended by Warnock, he just makes a lot of noise then disappears.
HAAAAAAA - Its so funny the Joey Barton transfer saga is going into its 3rd day - thats how to do busines...lol
I can't agree that Reading are unambitious. They just keep themselves sensible when it comes to income and expenditure. It wouldn't do plenty of other clubs any harm to follow suit. Saints NOT needing that lesson, of course.
There are certainly some varied views on what has been a very irritating transfer saga. Whilst I have 100% faith in NC & NA I have to admit i was very surprised that Gorkss had signed for Reading. During the time he was linked to us, I think almost every Saint fan on here suggested he would be a very good signing:- 1. He was cheap at only £900k, and proven in the Championship. 2. We could of finally got rid of Puncheon. 3. Would of given us enough CB cover. Surely the swap deal was never on the cards because I can't see why we would not of ripped their arm off. As you can probably tell I am NOT a Puncheon fan.
Missing out on KG has caused a lot of unrest over the last couple days, some even questioning Cortese's ability as chairman. Now, missing out on this signing may well be bad, but not catastrophic. Missing out on Cork would have been truly disastrous, thats not a exaggeration. But Gorkss, well, I don't think we'll be hearing much from the chap this season, for a couple reasons. One, Reading are quite a good defensive unit, they needed a striker more than a defender if you ask me! And two, although he was very consistent last season, there is invariably a good reason why Warnock will not even consider him as a squad player for their 1st Premiership campaign for fifteen years. So, don't be too down beat, we'll be linked with better players over the season & they might even be able snub us in a partially rude way, lets move on to the next non-target.
I don't think we were interested in Gorkss initially and then only as a part exchange with puncheon to get him off the bus. There are better players out there and our scouting network we get a player that we think can make the step up to the PL. Obviously Colin doesn't think much of Gorkss if he cannot get passed Gabbidon and One Size.
I can't believe anyone is getting upset by what Warnock says or does. Warnocks first second and last loyalty is to neil Warnock. As a self publicist who loves the sound of his own voice, and seeing his face in the media, he is second only to the late unlamented Rupert Lowe. I am sure that if NA/NC really wanted Gorkss he would now be wearing a saints shirt. We are hardly desparate for players, and I am sure that there will be movement in the days to come.
I think its time to forget about Gorkss! Please delete this thread so everyone stops commenting on it which keeps it on the first page. He's gone to Reading FFS!
