Koscielny was a BIG reason why we got top 4 last season ahead of Spurs. Fans of other clubs haven't quite clocked on to how good he is yet, but i recon by the end of the season everyone will be drooling all over him.

And this is comming from an Arsenal fan who has always liked Toure a lot, both for his personality and his footballing ability. Just over a year ago when we needed to bring in a back-up CB i wanted Toure to come in and play 4th choice ahead of Djourou.

He will do a good job for you and i still think he has spomething to offer at this level, but i wouldn't in a million years have him on a team sheet ahead of Kosc and i think that is probably the view shared by most people.

The key point here is that it's clear Arsenal fans wouldn't want to swap any of our first choice defenders for your lot, and vice versa Liverpool fans wouldn't want to swap any of there back-4 for any of ours. So as Cini said a few posts back, it's a stalemate, there will be no winner here :P

What a load of rubbish. There's a clear gap of ability between Giroud & Suarez. The gap between Toure & Koscielny, if it exists, isn't clear at all.

Using the Giroud-Suarez comparison is a terrible one, its like us saying yeah you wouldn't see any Liverpool fans saying they wouldn't swap Allen for Ozil and that's proof that we aren't biased at all in any argument at all.

Just remember your number one target this summer was Suarez, but you had to settle for Ozil.


It boils down to the fact that we got Toure on a free and thought his experience would benefit the club, even if it was just during training and in the dressing room. The fact he's come in and probably got MOTM in 80% of the games he's played for us - suggests he's more than we were expecting. Also with Sakho coming in, Ilori, Cissokho all coming in without question our back lines put's yours to shame. We have at least 6 CB's that are more than capable of playing first team football.

Other than Kos and Mertesacker, who have you got that has any real quality? A very thin squad is Arsenal, certainly in most positions anyway.

Oh my God. I thought some of you guys were just playing around. But you're actually serious?! <laugh> A long past it Toure on a free is on par with Koscielny who's among the best centrebacks in the world.

Sakho is extremely average. He's no better than Skrtel. It's clear that they haven't seen him. Judging on a lot of these comments they don't watch games outside their club and at most the Prem. What makes you think they'll watch Ligue 1?
It's just another case of a player joining Liverpool that they're just hyping up.

Nah. We'll consider bringing back Vermaelen (when he's back from injury), we could play Sagna there too. And at worst Flamini can even do a shift there.
