As you know nothing about Premier League quality players, I'll leave it to our scouts and management team to decide who is up to it.
did you go to that game? i did, and trust me when i say, fulham got better and better as the game went on - they DID NOT take their foot of the gas! i wish they bloody had!!! oh, and we are currently 2 points adrift against our opponents last season. or, another way of looking at it, is that if we get just one point from our next two games, we'll be level on our 2 points from the first four games from last year
If Tom Ince can reproduce that kind of performance on a consistent basis I would start to agree but as I was watching the highlights this morning the commentator said, and I quote "he had the game of his life". It certainly looked that way and it is rare to see a single player have so much influence on a game. Let's see how many times he can do it in a season.
surely its worse to play WELL and lose 6-0! that to me would be extremely worrying... we just had a very bad day at the office and came up against a team better than us in every department. the scoreline did not flatter fulham in any way and gave us the wake up call required. you boys however, have made a habit of getting stuffed - how many times have you conceded 3 or more under jewell? i think i read it was a third of your games under his stewardship! that's frightening
Its the lady luck thing supers, everything they done worked (albeit with comedy defending at times) everything we done didn't. not that between the sides really on the pitch, a couple of outstanding players for them thats about it. certainly doesn't deserve knee jerk reaction, we have got more points at this point than i thought we would have, so can't complain really.
my old man went to your game at watford last week and said ipswich were outstanding. trust me when i say, i haven't heard him say that for at least five years! so i was a bit surprised to see your scoreline at the weekend but blackpool are a good team - i think they'll be there or thereabouts if they can keep their best players. ipswich, as usual, will be mid-table. you haven't got a good enough squad to challenge for the play offs and you haven't got a weak enough team to be relegated, unless injuries really bite hard.
you'll probably get two or three very good results but you'll probably also go on one of those mammoth winless streaks again. even one injury will mess your team about big time. and yet again your best players are going to be loans and you've let important players get into their last year of a deal. lee martin is not a player i rate highly but he's done pretty well for you - you're being run by charlatans
I absolutely love the Charlatans and was about to launch into a long post using lots of track titles. However... Second album, 'Between tenth and eleventh'...
We will see how strong Blackpool are after they meet one of the better Championship teams next saturday. To be honest a 6-0 thrashing against a team like the binners doesnt signify much at all really
Hang on ILD, I just have to consult the Norwich book of excuses! I think we will use excuse number 10,345 - 'To many loan players'
We never had excuses when we were as **** as you are now, we just knew what was wrong. We did have way too many loan players in the year we went down - that's not an excuse, its fact.
as much as i despise roeder, he was not solely to blame for our relegation, though he was a large factor. we'd been in decline for the previous three seasons since dropping out of the top flight. we'd spent silly money on wages for the likes of earnshaw and all the parachute money was wasted by worthington. this meant we had to resort to freebies and loans as the club was skint and getting more skint by the day. there was also the peter grant factor and the bryan gunn factor to take into account. many people should take the blame for that situation, not just roeder, although as i say, i'm not defending him - he was a horrible man who made horrific mistakes. i just think its too easy and a bit naive to say it was one factor and certainly shouldn't be used as an excuse - the club was rotten from top to bottom and delia and the board was as much to blame as anyone at the time
