When I strarted my job in Germany in November 2008 I think I had something like a 30% rise in my wages in about 3 months when converting to GBP as the pound fell against the Euro.

To be fair, isn't it what she said she would do to the people who voted her in?

Yeah. 14 years ago could get $2 for £1. Now they're predicting in less than a year the £ will be worth less than the $, already fairly close to 1:1. Pretty scary times for GBP. I definitely need to get over to UK next year before it rebounds.

And with the UK being a net importer of goods, this means those things we import will now cost more.

Always looking for the bright side I thought I'd see what the benefits of having a weak pound (if any) are. For those like me seeking out something good from a poor situation, the sum total of my research into who the winners from a week pound are:
    UK exporters
    Foreign tourism to UK increases
    Foreign investors into British assets
UK firms who earn profits abroad e.g. firms with investments in the US

Oh, that's good, I always thought they were perilously underpaid.

Having met one who paid £4k for a Gucci collar for his dog, with diamonds set in it of course, it is nice to know they will not be struggling.

Anyone earning a million will be about 55k a year better off… should keep the lights on in that 3rd holiday home they have out in the country.

Our Fluff was 20 when she died, she was a small tabby. She was cremated and her ashes buried under where we plant our tulips. They come up a treat every year <ok>

What's the vet needing to diet got to do with your cat?

The vet was also hoping to eat the cat.

Probably a few multi-millionaires can't see what all the fuss is about.
