You never mentioned anything about a pass.The pass excuse can't be used anymore. You know what you are buying into this time.
For what it's worth I did not renew when we got promoted. I had passes for me + my daughter for 10 years prior to that.

I got them all in the right order, though I've spent years in Asia and so I should find it easier than most. Telling the difference between Koreans and Japanese isn't easy, the differences are very subtle, but the Chinese and Japanese look significantly different.
