Got to admit, decision makers hiding behind process to buy more time is rubbish. They’ve had plenty time, it has to be their no1 priority so get on with it. If it’s a case of it’s been offered and a candidate is considering it, then call that out rather than saying, ‘we won’t be rushed into a decision’ that’s their job, get a decision made.
Mate I’ve been voicing my dissatisfaction with KLD for god few months now and all I’ve been met with is abuse, I’ve had posts and threads deleted from this very forum for voicing those opinions.
I do think they have changed the mentality of the club and I can see the vision they have For a more progressive self sufficient club This is a massive change and by its nature there is a lot going on that won’t show obvious change. For me the direction is right. However it has to be balanced with results and the imperative short term gain of promotion. Some of the decisions lately and the public handling of the managerial change over the weekend worry me a bit that they are a bit wrapped up in their “Process” and have forgot about actually delivering some short term wins Saying that they bit the bullet and sacked Johnson. May be to late but I think if we can bring in Keane that may well be the balance we need
I agree we’ve had that for as long as can remember which is why I’m questioning the apparent sea of change that most on here seem to think is sweeping through the club.
Agree with most of this but imho if we’d won on Saturday no one would be bothered about speakmans interview. Losing has focused everyone’s attention and they’re just looking for a blame game to jump on. It’s klds club, and he can take as long as he likes to appoint a manager, and he can appoint whoever he wants. His risk is financial, if he gets it wrong he loses a few million, which he can afford, if he gets it right he makes a few million as he marches us up the leagues. Our interest comes from the emotional attachment we’ve got with the club and our need for them to be successful, something we can be proud of being associated with, and until we can see things like he does we’ll never understand his, or any owners, decisions, they’ll never be on our page or think like us.
That emotional attachment is an interesting one. I think they actually do buy into the club and want to succeed but until Saturday I think they didn’t really appreciate the size and passion of the club It’s irrational emotional and until you see it first hand hard to envisage. For me speakmans interview before the game highlighted that. Hopefully the crowd the game and the reaction has hit them hard and woke them up. For me Keane will rebalance the clubs direction Carry on with the data driven recruitment but balance it with a bit of raw emotion Kevin Ball. Or Lee Cattermole. Would probably have dreadful data stats. But either one of those on the pitch on Saturday would have dragged us over the line. I’m hoping Keane can fill the gap. Bring a bit of raw emotion back into the set up He gets the club and the fans They can’t afford to cock this up
That’s my point though m8, he can afford to cock it up, it’s just loose change for him, if he gets bored he sells us, and god forbid we get another Donald, if we’re successful he gets all the kudos and a return on his investment, but either way he doesn’t see it like we do, and he’s the one in charge not us, so he’ll do it his way.
Bottom line that’s true. But just got to have faith. This club has a habit of getting under peoples skin. Quinn. Keane. Defoe. I’m hopefull they will get it right
I suppose im just old fashioned but the thought of non football men like speakman heading up recruitment leaves me cold.
I absolutely get that I might appear a right negative c@nt but why shouldn’t I be p!ssed off with the way things are?
