Resurfaced to flag up 20 year old Nick Dunlap going into tonight’s final round in the PGA American Express in the lead by 3 shots from Justin Thomas .

If he holds on he’ll be the first amateur to win a PGA tour event since Liv Mickelson in 1991.

    He’s not bad for a youngster! :emoticon-0104-surpr

(hoping @askewshair & @FerArk don’t watch because I thought I’d copy how he plays in morning against them…)

Funny ol’ game golf. Very difficult to play well, as anyone who’s picked a club up will probably tell you.
Personally, I’ve played lots of other sport’s football, rugby, cricket, squash, tennis and table tennis to name a few. In all of these game the player and the ball are generally moving when contact is made. With golf the £@@£in thing is motionless and still difficult to hit to where you want!!!:steam:

So no prize money for amateur Dunlap and his caddy will collect 10% of nothing.

It’s quite a big college mind you.

Even bigger than Wyke I think…

A great achievement by the young man, this reminds me of Justin Rose in the open when he finished 4th as an Amateur, received a medal and nothing else.

Those guys are all bloody good.

I'm assuming the 67 guys in the table below were the only golfers who made the cut on the par 72 course.

Collectively they therefore played a total of 4x67= 268 rounds of golf.

Only 11 of those rounds were over par, all of which occured in the final round, approx. 4 %. (weather conditions ?)

Every single player ended up with a sub par average - from winner Nick Dunlap's -29 (average - 7.25 under), to last man, Will Gordon - 9 (average - 2.25 under).

Must have been an easy course ! :emoticon-0100-smile I must have played around 750 rounds of golf in the last 25 years or so. And here I stand being proud of the 1 sub-par round I've accumulated over that time. It was on a very short par 62 course of course (no hazards).

Waste of money this bloody sport.

    Well done young lad.
