Yep...saw that pic earlier, not Morgans as initialy reported. That's the Marriott on the seafront, just a small point. Looks like it's around £40,000 a week and a massive signing on fee plus performance related bonuses.

They deserved it to be fair. Ivory Coast lethargic and didn't look like a team that wanted to win it. Should have grabbed the game by the scruff and gone for it imo.

Agree Dragon, Greece looked a decent side. Ivory Cost looked very average.

Only a handful of consistent teams so far for me and France is one of them.

Wouldn't hurt my feelings if its true Sbulby , wage demands could cause a commotion . Good if he signs , good if he doesn't

It's up on the Sky Sports site now - "Sky Sports sources understand Swansea have agreed a four-year deal to sign striker Bafetimbi Gomis on a free transfer."

Lot of money guys. I hope they have got this right. His goal scoring record whilst pretty good is no more than that, 62 in 172 for Lyon, 40 in 142 for St Etienne. I suppose there is no ransfer fee. Still need to be convinced on this one, If he has been signed as a replacement for Bony.

Agreed tlf. Doesn't look like he'll set the world alight but (without looking it up) I think Bony's strike rate was only impressive in his last year in Holland. Guess the Board are prepared to take a punt - would love to see both of them here.

Off topic as a footnote, spoke to Tremmel at the gym today - very nice guy. Doesn't think Germany will win the World Cup but thinks a South American team most certainly will. I told him I thought France could do it.....and he was a crap keeper. OK I didn't say that lol. Not as tall as some keepers in the flesh - looked about 6'1".

So Gomis is dragging his feet over signing for us, give him an ultimatum, SIGN or deal is off. He's a money grabber that's plain to see, personally I'd dump him anyway. He'll be 29 when he plays for us, no spring chicken in footballing terms.

He won't have a huge resale value if he sees out his contract that's for sure. Maybe the gamble is that he has a prolific first season then sell him before his age dilutes his value.

I don't agree that he's a money grabber. A contracts works both ways and each side needs to ensure they get the best deal. Maybe it's a case of Huw not willing to pay what he's worth. No reason he should agree to less if he can get more. Has to suits both sides. I bet most people on here would take the highest paid job they could get under most circumstances. Same for Gomis. Coming to the end of his playing career so needs a good deal.

I keep coming back to Alfred Finnbogason of Heerenveen. 25 and top three goals in the Dutch League for three years.
Fulham had a bid of £8 million turned down in January by Heerveneen that really annoyed the player. Now could be the time to make a similar offer
