We can, but it's massively unlikely. We have to win our remaining 2 games by rugby scorelines and then hope that Man City only win by 1 goal in each of their final games. Again, it's possible, but I certainly wouldn't put any money on it! He has cojones like grapefruits does B-Rod!
Problem is, City are just as capable as winning 5-0 against Villa or West Ham as well. We aren't going to win it on GD, we need City to drop points in order to win it. Saying that, how funny would it be if we piped City to the title by GD with a last minute goal in the final game of the season
I agree... massively unlikely... but I want to see the team try. Could be some entertaining football. We only need 1 point to secure 2nd place now- so let's throw all caution to the wind... unfurl the sails in the hurricane and attack like crazy. Doubt we will over turn their GD- but things could get entertaining.
Chelsea are only a point behind us so we need 2 points to secure 2nd (assuming they don't win their last game 8-0! Normally wouldn't care about finishing 2nd or 3rd, not much difference in either of them but wouldn't want us to finish below Chelsea so win tonight then put all the pressure on City to win their games.
We've been playing entertaining, attacking football all season, so I can't see that changing now. We even went all out attack on Chelsea when we only really needed a draw. (I'm happy we did that, even though we lost and may have failed in our chance at the title!) Palace will be tough to break down, like Chelsea, so I'm not expecting a high-scoring game. I'd love one -- don't get me wrong! -- but I just don't expect one. Pulis' teams are like Fat Sam's teams: tough to break down, organized, and a touch dirty! All I want is a scrappy win, with a Suarez goal so he's tied the scoring record without taking any penalties. If not, then a Sterling goal so LFC has four scorers with over 10 goals to their name. Although, I'd take a Skrtel hat-trick for the same reason!
i said an easy 9-0 and 5-0 win and it got mocked lol. think we are good enough to overturn a goal dif, but just feel its too much sadly in the 2 games left. although it will be entertaining watching us try.
probably not sadly, but be good to see if we could, as i hate pullis style of football. although to be fair to the man they probably would have gone down if it wasn't for him.
All you can do is win and hope City slip up, anything other than a win tonight and you're done (probably).
We don't need GD. Stewart Downing is going to slap one in from 30 yards in the final minute to win the game [for West Ham].
