I never hit report, been on forums for 12 years and have never done so, with regard LL, yes it became a slanging match at one time, that's when I decided the best course was to just stop feeding his cravings for attention, and ignore him, worked for a few weeks before his self isolation.

I ignored him for a couple of years, but when it looked like he was moderating his bollox somewhat I took it off as it made following the flow of the threads a bit iffy - people replying to posts I hadn't seen, etc.

Made me chuckle at times though when you only see the response and wonder what the insufferable narcissist had come out with to gain attention THAT time.

When he flounced off I was delighted - if he insists on posting again I suppose it's back to the ignore button, his last look-at-me effort is more cringeworthy than David Brent.

<ok>

Don't worry, if we get to 1,000 dieing a day from Corona virus we are going to talk about fools who just thought it was the flu. <whistle>
I was one of those mate but I don’t know what to think now. That ship where a couple died from it, they were all tested and one third had it but never even realised as their symptoms were that mild.

I agree with the shall we say partial lockdown but what happens when we come out from it? I don’t agree that it should remain in place for longer than 3-5 weeks as the lock down effects would be more devastating.

Sure the elderly and vulnerable leave them in lockdown and give them financial aid but I still believe this virus is not going to magically vanish, it’s going to run it’s course. As Eire said, the scientist bloke on the news said it will be 1000 a day by the weekend but that’s expected, it’s the new infections number they’re more interested in.

You stay in lockdown until a better solution is found whether weeks or months. Otherwise it’s a form of euthanasia. Simple as

Yes absolutely if no better solution. Lives are far more valuable than money and especially those who worked all their lives an paid their taxes
But it’s just not going to happen mate. There would be no economy, companies in the FTSE 100 would start going under, like your BAs, this would dry up the pension pots. The negative effects of a 6 month lock down would far outweigh keeping one in place. Everyone would say money is less important until they had absolutely none left, no money for heating and water, no money for rent, no money for food. The government isn’t going to be able to fund this for a 6 month lock down and there would be anarchy, what when the government can’t borrow anymore and they can’t pay the NHS and Police?

Not sure if you’ve seen it yet, there is a chart of age groups, who believes the government is handling this well. The lowest age group which was something like 18 to 25 around 60% believe they are handling it well, the highest age group over 70s something like 85% although I can’t remember the exact figure. The fact was, the higher the age group the more felt they were handling it well.

The analyst was already saying that problems will arise as the figures drop and the longer it goes on then those figures will change until there is too huge a gap between the elderly and young to ignore.

My wife is already having her customers start to call her asking if she’ll pop round to their house and do their hair, she has declined but I’m just giving you that as an example of where this is all going to head if that length of lock down became a reality.

BTW I’m not knocking your thoughts of what should happen, I just can’t personally see it being a reality.

It’ll happen alright. Many medical people suggesting antibodies will eventually be the solution. Towards end of year when solution will be available to all. That’s when our lives will be returned to normal. I’m not knocking anyone wanting to believe it’ll all be fine in a few weeks, just pointing out you’ll be disappointed

Seen a Doctor post, it depends on the start dose you get, if you get a small amount of the virus, it gives your body longer to prepare to fight it, if you get a large dose it overwhelms the body.

I read that too, but not sure how you get a smaller dose - by injection? Could be the next step is this goes on too long & no vaccine is in sight.

That's puzzling me as well.
Also, why are more people dead in certain countries?
Germany 79,465 cases only 959 dead 1%
USA 215,362 cases 5,113 dead 2%

China 81,589 cases 3,318 dead 4%
Spain 110.238 cases 10,003 dead 9%
Italy 110,574 cases 13,155 dead 12%
UK 33,718 cases 2921 dead 9%

Germany and USA compared to Spain and Italy = complete contrast???

It's by the amount of droplets you inhale from person to person. If in a room with someone coughing their guts up then you have serious problems. I had a strange cough in February it was dry and thickly. Used to be worse when I went to bed.

A friend of mines daughter who is in her 30s with 2 kids under 10 has been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, the outlook is very poor and she has been fighting to see a specialist for weeks, her weight has gone from 10 stone to 6 stone, they don't want her in the hospital due to the coronavirus, if she catches it then she'll be a statistic of covid19 with underlying conditions when the truth is she should have been operated on by now and have been having treatment to prolong her life... I wonder how many others will sadly pass away in the next few months and years because hospitals are geared up totally towards coronavirus patients and not the rest who need treatment for other conditions? I include in that people who might have had cancers discovered earlier had they been able to get an appointment

Read recently of someone with stage 4 terminal cancer. Was admitted to hospital & dead within a week. As you would expect, however, in that week he contracted the virus & is now recorded as someone dying of the virus with underlying conditions. It's almost as if they're trying to ramp up the figures to give a bigger fright.

Anyone noticed how we've only had 135 survivors in the official numbers. Been the same for over a week & absolutely not in line with other countries. Makes we wonder why. Could it be that we just started doing the numbers then gave up for some reason?

Just because someone has stage 4 terminal cancer, could have lasted 6-12 months without covid 19.The numbers in recovery aren't being counted, as we send them home to self quarentine once they are no longer seriously ill, and Don't seem to have anyone deciding when they are 100% recovered.

Other countries are testing more, so are including, mild cases, we aren't so we only count bad cases and more deaths. We probably have as many cases as Germany, if not more, we just aren't testing enough.

When the numbers come down enough, I recon most businesses will re-open, the social distancing will continue, football, concerts, pubs, will stay fan free or closed until there's a vaccine imo.
