Knife crime in this country is out of control and has been for decades For years we’ve had a ridiculously soft approach to it for fear of being called racist while innocent people are killed or seriously injured on an almost daily basis The public have no faith in politicians or the Police and as a nation when are we going to take this sort of thing seriously and respond to every incident with the seriousness it deserves going forward? For me it’s just another element of what’s been allowed to happen to our country by the negligence of the people we elect and pay for who are supposed to keep us both safe and prosperous At the moment, we’re neither !
Our people are not safe fact-police and government is no longer trusted. We are going to see a civil war very soon.
So the government want people to be ‘more vigilant’ How about them actually doing something for once about the people who carry knives instead ? The government have almost unlimited powers to enforce this and make carrying a knife both totally unacceptable and for it to carry a massive prison sentence to prevent the Wild West scenario that this country has turned into Stop & Search works, unlike this government and the one before it It’s time to get really tough with this, so get a grip !!
It's deeply concerning to Starmer. Deeply concerning????, Ffs it's effing terrifying, Starmer just doesn't get it. Discipline is word today's generation hasn't heard or would understand. As a boy I wouldn't say boo to a goose to anyone,especially police. Now the police are treated with disdain. In school teachers we're often violent, but kids were well behaved and got their heads down, we had no other choice......look at it now....it's a bloody free for all. It's definitely wrong to hit kids but something has to be done. Under Starmer and this Labour government we're heading straight over the cliff. He/they just don't get it.

I’d be all in favour of capital punishment for murder RP But we need to start locking people up for 10 years without remission for even carrying a knife I’d have no objections if tax went up to build more prisons and employ more police It’s all out of hand and no one in authority gives a rats ass
You would have to see police on the streets to say boo to, or treat with disdain. Living close to an area that experiences serious knife crime in BS4 we do not see police on the streets. A control measure on the streets is missing.
What about a deterrent as 'control measure'. You'd only need 1 conviction of 10 years inside........see how many would carry a knife then.
since the tories increased the police and nhs staffing very little has been added since july 2024 .. all the qualified nursing staff 2 tier claims that have swelled the NHS ranks started training 4 years ago and 3 years ago and 2 years ago since a year ago numbers have dwindled?????? takes upward of 3 years to train a nurse ... he is claiming the previous .gov's efforts!!!!! similar story with police . takes a couple years to train a policeman [ properly ]
A deterrent does not work if there is little probability of enforcement. Four years current for carrying a knife, ten years so what, there is already a void where the law is not being enforced.
