Bent was always going to be one who would end his career early.
The reason why Harry let him go from Spurs was because he missed too many chances.
Remember his 'my missus could have scored that' tirade?
He continued to miss too many while he was here as well, but we forgave him that because at the same time he managed to get into the right place at the right time far more often than other strikers, so he scored more than most.
However, this was something that he was bound to lose, to some degree, as he got older.
No doubt he will, at some point, look back and wonder what might have been had he stayed here, but that's his problem.
For now his career is on the slide, unless young Clough can put him right.
