A storm in a waterglass IMO. Ok, Rod-nee is a old legend but sometimes his behaviour is not the kind you would expect from such. Barton is eh..well everybody know what barton is but during two seasons he has been our best player par Austin. Some posters clearly dont like him and thats fair enough. Joey is not everybodys cup of tea ( Mairsh either) but showing him a door because of this is just laughable. Club perhaps dont offer new contract to him or he dont want to sign it and that is fair enough but not for this nonsense.
You might expect me to take Marsh's side but I think they can both be a bit silly in the media and I'd pay no attention to this little, handbags-at-dawn spat. I'd gladly have Joey in my team next season (I voted for him as POTY) but financial prudence may well mean we can't afford him, even on much reduced wages.
I'd keep barton on reduced terms if he wanted to stay. we've been a better team with him in the side whether you think hes a twit or not.
A divisive figure, especially here it seems. My query is, what good does all the extra trash that comes with Barton bring? He is a good player, yes, but why does he consistently seek to be the centre of attention, and in the limelight. We've been relegated, he should be quietly festering, and embarrassed. Instead he's picking fights with someone who really has contributed to the club. Stupid man...hope he believes his own PR, and leaves to become another clubs problem for next year.
Very accurate. Nines is a fantastic fella but once again, this was a dreadful OP. We really are scraping the barrel now
Swords is woefully off form. A petty incident in itself. But it happens agian and again and again and.....ad nauseum, with this twat. Can you imagine sharing a dressing room with someone who reacts like this, always, to perceived criticism?
Agreed of course but good players and team do not give the ball away I was watching Gary Monk two seasons ago at our place? now he is carrying on the management and their footballing ethic at Swansea FC I thought Saints would struggle this year as they sold their best players .... wrong they have been the team of the season IMO I se both these teams relax and play football ... either of them has a Barton in their team ... Shelvey can be a bit mad but he has talent I doubt if any of us could name the saints team on the opening day of the season Get CR in and play his football and it will not be hoof ball Colin
It makes no odds to my posts drunk or sober,I tend to type the same old s**t anyway! Laugh out loud....
I believe he has shown passion, commitment to the cause and has been possibly one of the best players on the pitch this season. However, imo it is no coincidence that since he has been at the club is when this nasty smell has descended over QPR with continuing bad eggs at the club, people pointing blame in all directions and a constant media meltdown which usually starts with his twitter rants which seems to allow others to do the same when ALL we want is our team to perform on the pitch. Yes, we have had bad Managers and lots of blame elsewhere but I just think the quicker he goes now the better. QPR are now the team that football fans and indeed neutrals love to hate and this started with Barton becoming a Rangers player......he now states he had no idea about his agent contacting Marseille again and has had a spat with a QPR legend. Next year is a vital season for QPR and imo I think if we are able to retain experience then Barton is not the man to stay. We need to rebuild under the radar and that will be impossible with Barton still a Rangers player.........
You didn't want to just add this to the Barton out thread? Have you been on the sherry again Forty? You know the Doctor told you to wait until at least 1 O'clock Into the Thames you go
Totally disagree, Barton is one of the few players I would like to keep. He has at least played with his heart on his sleeve til the bitter end. As for Rodney Marsh, a legend in his day may be but all respect for him disappeared for his part in the resignation of Gerry Francis and the subsequent relegation.
My biggest problem with Barton is that I strongly suspect he is chief clique-maker. Squad members are either in or out with him, and those that are out in the cold may create their own cliques and the whole damn thing is divisive. If we want a united team going forward (such as the one NW took up to the Prem), our manager (whoever he is) needs to address this.
I think you could have hit the nail on the head here............as my OP stated things have just not been right with morale since he came.....maybe Vargas, Isla just did not fit in with Barton and were alienated.............even Taraabt under NW was individual but Clint, Derry etc managed to deal with him but Barton is a different proposition.
