Danelaw on a roll! Thames is going to be busy. I think Barton divides the fan base even more than Adel. I'm embarrassed for my club and ashamed of my support every time he takes the pitch for us.

But to be fair I don't think Col is a fan of Barton. Col likes football, unlike the others who like licking the arse of this odious, talentless twat. Takes a real pointless egoist to make old Rod look dignified these days.

Piss off Barton (and take Hill with you). The idea that Barton would have lasted ten seconds against players like Ron Harris, Kenny Burns, Tommy Smith, Norman Hunter, Dave Webb is hysterical.

Barton fancies himself as a philosopher. A real philosopher, Albert Camus, once said "Everything I know about morality and obligation I learned from football". I don't think Barton has the slightest idea what morality and obligation mean. And he can't play football.

Even his good performances don't seem good value for the 65-70K we pay him every week.

We need to get shot and get a sensible Championship wage structure in place.

    What?
I think you'll find that I have never been a Barton fan. I have said that he has at least put the effort in on the pitch, which is a fair assessment imo.

I actually think Barton and Marsh have made themselves look a tad silly, although Barton isn't fit to carry Marsh's boots into a room to ask someone else to lace them!!

I actually like Barton off the pitch and on it i cannot fault his effort ... for me he will continue to score own goals like this last episode for the rest of his time in football . He just isn't my sort of player on the pitch. I played yesterday myself and was drawn with two barton types ... running around like nut cases without a clue on how to play football. Football IMO takes very little effort when you have the basics installed. position is everything. Players chase games where they are on the back foot (losing) because there is little option IMO ... This is the standard English format to run around exerting unnecessary effort like bulldogs and I believe no only is it daft better players will always have a field day against this sort of game.

we won yesterday eventually after the baritons on my team worn themselves out and had no option but to relax a bit.

Barton is simply not good enough for the highest standard of football and at best would make a half decent full back when he may have time and composure to read the game and space and pace himself ... He can tackle that is for sure but he is no playmaker ... he cannot take set plays and is continuously out of position or chasing shadows ... he plays a square pass when he shouldn't and his long ball passing is poor ... I have only seen one pass against Sheffield Wednesday that i thought was good. I cannot remember in his entire career a moment of pure magic that sits up there with the great players of his generation. IMO he has always struggled with the fact that he really believes he is better than he is and his violence and frustration comes out because he is simply lacking.

He has however got this far by hard work and no one IMO can doubt he puts in a shift ... sadly that is no where near enough in todays game.

I hope he leaves the club and we get in a new blood in the form of a Ward Prowse type of player

His contract runs out in a matter of weeks. Paying it up now would cost a couple of hundred thousand or so.

Tony, make today the first day you make an astute investment in QPR's future.

A pair of berks, but as my house is on the Thames I may go down for a paddle anyway.

    It takes both Paul.

These days, the best teams relax on the ball but press manically when they don't have it!

Almost laughable that people are calling for Barton to leave following an argument on Twitter - clearly some very sensitive souls on here! As others have said, storm in a teacup, move on!

Judge Barton by his performances on the pitch - if you think he's been playing poorly on a consistent basis then that's your opinion, I actually think he's been one of the most consistent high performers for us this season. As for his pass completion, his success rate is amongst the highest in the squad and that's while attempting more than any other player. We'd be much worse off without him.

I feel Barton is light on talent for a Prem player, but I can't fault his effort this season (unlike some of his teammates). If he was an uncontroversial character and focused purely on the pitch, I'd certainly have him in the Championship next season.

The issue for me with Barton is off the pitch. There are certain similarities with the current Pietersen saga in cricket. Does Barton's presence in the dressing room divide or unite? I suspect he has his favourites, and because he's captain and gobby, we may have found ourselves with cliques again. Something I'd hoped we'd lost with Redknapp's clear-out (although Harry never seemed to be bothered what was happening behind the scenes - I recall when we were playing overseas pre-season, Harry checked into a different hotel to the team...).

So, now, fans are hamstrung (and I find it hard to reach a conclusion) because we don't know what's been going on off-pitch except, ironically, what has been hinted at by Barton himself. The one thing I can say is that, personally, I don't have much confidence in the strengths of our management to get on top of any dressing room difficulties in the name of team positivity and unity. Hope I'm wrong

Literally don't give a **** about this pettiness, Marsh is no fricking angel either and frankly his day was done years before I even got into football and I'm 35. I would argue that for us slightly younger R's Joey is actually more relevant. To me it's simple, as it stands are we better with Barton in the team or without? It's an easy answer. Socisl media nonsense is meaningless.

Barton should not have done this.....but having followed Rodney all season on Twitter myself, he certainly has not been a shining light in the behaviour front either. He has not shown the support for the club that Gallen and Bircham do.....
I must say I have lost a bit of respect for my former hero this season through following him through Twitter, he has been overly snipy , picky and does not show the love I would have expected and see in other former players

But this shows what a dangerous media it is...the media guys are trying to put a cap on it also......but destabilising anyway

Deep in side I suspect this is a Barton device to exit the club, force the issue of a move (perhaps he has been told he is not wanted, or he has to take a wage cut in excess of what he is expecting)
Anyway...a storm in a tea cup imho

If Barton's agent has approached another club for his client as his contract is running out, then surely the agent is doing what he is getting paid to do, and try to ensure his client is in work. At the end of the day, if Barton's salary is going to be halved or dropped even more and he doesn't want to help a club gain promotion after being part of a team that got them relegated then he should go. Personally, maybe relegation could be good in terms of finally getting rid of the players that are there for the money, rather than wanting to play for the shirt. Hopefully by the end of this, we can really start to lose the legacy of the huge financial mess of mercenaries that Mark Hughes left us with.

how hard would it be to look good this season

I agree with the principle, which means we've got bigger problems elsewhere in the team that need addressing first.

And yes there are stats for non-completion - logically given he's nearer the top end of the pass success % table, he's towards the lower end of the pass failure % table.

If he's willing to stay and help us next season we'd be mad to turn him down in my opinion.

Given that we will need a good split of grafters and matchwinners next season, he'd be in my squad.

I follow both on twitter, and they are both as capable of being twattish as each other.

I would ban all players from using all social media. Barton has put some effort in this year for the club that is true. Sadly, it is also true that for all Bartons endeavour on the pitch, it's amounted to a second relegation. He just isn't really a terribly good player and is a bit of a gob5hite. Rodney, for all he was, deserves respect as a former player, but is also a self opinionated, arrogant git, in my opinion. Anyway, time to leave Westfield and wander down to L R now. Let's hope they put on a decent show for the last home game eh ?
