He was; I can't help but think if Dawson hadn't arrived (and Dawson of course is fantastic) then he wouldn't have started playing badly. Seems you can't have 2 leaders at the back or mistakes happens and confidence gets knocked.

Barcelona have agreed a £64m deal with Juventus to sign Paul Pogba.

DONE DEAL: Barnsley have signed former Brentford defender Alfie Mawson on a three-year deal.

Chelsea have had a £6M offer for Stoke City goalkeeper, Asmir Begovic rejected as the Potters value him at £10M.

Well, that makes the embargo pretty bloody pointless. They shouldn't be allowed to even contact another club.

No it doesn't.

The embargo means that they can't sign anyone within the dates set. Which is what will happen.

Lukas Podolski has arrived in Turkey to complete a move to Galatasaray.

Bury have completed the signing of former Blackpool midfielder Jacob Mellis on a two-year deal.

They can still sign players though, which is wrong.

They can't. They can put a bid in for a player and have that bid accepted but he can't sign until January 2015.

Barcelona have already signed Aleix Vidal this window. The transfer has been confirmed he just can't play until January

They can sign Pogba but he can't play until January so I'm sure they could just send him out on loan for a few months

That's wrong.

He can sign, but he can't be registered to play in a competition.

It's still wrong, no matter how you try to twist it.

Tottenham are planning on using Emmanuel Adebayor as part of their offer to sign Christian Benteke.

Barnsley and Chesterfield are both interested in signing former Bradford City striker Jon Stead.

Though they can agree deals now, they can't gain any benefit from these players until after the embargo ends and they can play for them, I really don't think it matters.

They can get benefits - they can sign these players over teams who (on the face of it) haven't broken any rules to land them under embargo.

How can it possibly be wrong? Barcelona can't sign/register a player to begin playing for Barcelona under this embargo.

They can't sign him until January. He'll be a Juventus player until January the 1st when he'll be announced as a Barcelona player.

He'll sign a pre-contract agreement. Similar to Gerrard.

That's up to the selling club. They can only put a bid in.

Swansea are poised to announce the £5million capture of Portugal striker Eder and are also closing in on Dame N'Doye from Hull.

The likely double swoop will give Swansea boss Garry Monk a powerful new attacking line-up.

Striker N'Doye, 30, wants to quit the relegated Tigers and the Welsh club are in advanced talks over his £50,000-a-week personal demands.

Eder's paperwork is being processed today after Swansea agreed a fee of around £5million with Sporting Braga and the 27-year-old is set to sign a three-year deal at the Liberty Stadium.

Eder has been capped 18 times by his country and scored 10 goals in 29 appearances for Portuguese side Braga last term

It's wrong because you can sign a player, but not register him from a competition. Usually clubs do it with players who aren't eligible for a visa at the time of the acquisition, and they simply loan them out.

By the way, you managed to say he won't sign and he will sign in the same post. Bit contradictory.

At the end of the day, in my opinion, under an embargo, you shouldn't be allowed to contact anyone about signing or loaning a player into the club, apart from free agents. To buy them and then bring them in later seems to me like a cheap and easy way around it.
