We had to have Karius in goal for the final a couple of years back because we had 3 keepers out injured and Dubravka had played in the cup on loan earlier in the season. That's how it should be.

The rumour is sadly correct, change in the rules this season for the league cup that means that players can play for 2 cups in one season in that competition.

We didn't have 3 keepers out injured though, Pope was suspended in the final for being a tard and getting sent off in the previous match.

Shame. We were awful first half when they were at their worst too, somehow managed to concede ten minutes into injury time through dire defending then not fit enough to push on after equalising having done ok for half an hour or so second half. Fair result when it was there for the taking especially at 1-1. We’ll win the replay. Hope the referee’s wife is getting drilled by some big Leroy.
