You could say the same about Ivan Toney…

Apart from the appearances for Rangers, of course.

Toney was a bit of a late bloomer, ie he was generally ok, but his career only really kicked off when we sold him to Peterborough, and from then on he went from strength to strength.

Tavenier was always third tier at best, hence he's been at Rangers all this time.

Apart from Charlie, Toon very quiet in here, they nervous about their game, hmm...

It's cuz we're generally crap at the Amex, still waiting to win there since Brighton got promoted with us.

We're better than them atm, but not a lot's happened so far.

Shearer is wrong here btw, Cantona cost Man U £1m as well:

Yup ... they got him from non-league too ... and it was good that he turned around their history because they had never won either the FA Cup or the top division before he joined ... and a million pounds back then would still have been worth the same as when Leicester City bought Jamie Vardy ... oh no wait... inflation and daft football prices suggest an equivalent around £40 million ....

... but other than all of that ... you are bang on the money ...<laugh>

Cantona is widely acknowledged as the catalyst for Man U becoming the dominant force they were, they hadn't won the league for 26 years before he came along, and then they promptly proceeded to win everything after he arrived.

I'm not bothered about inflation, I'm just basing it on £1m spent. Cantona's contribution to Man U was clearly far more than Vardy's to Leicester.

Nice, nice. The world went a bit mad for a moment with Mount scoring and Man U winning.

Luke Shaw into his own net and Smooth Operator adding another, and things are back to normal.

Batty boys doing Newcastle currently too

Looking good so far today, can't stay that way surely :bandit:

<laugh> Gianluca Vialli from Samdoria to Chelsea the same year set a new world record... £12 million ...

Cantona did not contribute more to Manchester United history than Vardy has to Leicester City, you utter tube ... have you never heard of Messrs Charlton, Best and Law ... probably not <doh>

Ignoring inflation and just judging the impact of a £1m spend, Cantona clearly contributed far more to Man U than Vardy did to Leicester, you'd have to be mentally insane to argue otherwise.

Vardy helped Leicester to a highly unexpected league win, Cantona was instrumental in making Man U the biggest club in the world.

Cantona ruled English football until he retired, the only year he didn't win the title was the year he got suspended.
