Hereford result was indeed another level. Gets forgotten that they beat us in a replay as they had already drawn at St James in the first match 2-2, having equalised with a 25 yard shot then. I could talk about the divide between the league being larger now than it used to be (and it clearly is) but they were a 5th division side and we had 6 internationals in our team. Ooops.

My wife, bless her, knows nothing about football. I mentioned to her that Newcastle were playing Liverpool in the League cup final a few days ago but we were definitely second favourites. When i told her Liverpool had been knocked out of the FA cup she asked, without a hint of sarcasm "does that mean you'll win that one then?".

No. No it wont.
