It’s Sunday and I don’t really want to spend all day discussing this, so a quick summary;
  • Leicester are one of the oldest clubs in existence.
  • In terms of finance you have pretty much been subjected to the same rules as everyone else. The fact you haven’t capitalised on it, as one of the oldest clubs, is a Leicester problem.
  • Whether it’s this ownership group or a previous one, Leicester city have entered administration, defaulted on stadium building costs, paid a £3m fine and are now in danger of a points deduction for overspending again.
  • Sky have created most of the issues we have today. The moment they threw obscene amounts of money at top flight football, owners have overstretched trying to maintain or reach this cash cow. Leicester have been no different.
  • Whilst not perfect FFP has tried to introduce checks and balances to manage some restraint that owners, including your own, are either unable or unwilling to do. The average fan think City and Chelsea have taken the piss, but still shouldn’t detract for what FFP is trying to do.
  • The reality is that the clubs who generate the biggest income will have the most to spend.
In summary, it’s nothing to do with the big 6 clubs mate, it’s a history of Leicester city mismanagement.
As a final point, what’s happened to the stadium expansion? This will generate additional revenue and is exempt from the FFP calculations. If you look at the big 6, they have all invested, apart from Utd, in infrastructure projects. You can’t blame other clubs when Leicester are sitting on there hands.

Lovely - I love stuff about my club - thanks

Think the only thing you've left out was winning the Prem League having spent only a fraction of what it took the others (comparitably) ... oh ... and winning the FA Cup in the last 5 years too ... you missed that as well ...

... and FFP is still a farce ...

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day ... <cheers>

Fans analysing spreadsheets ffs and spending their lives writing essays about it <laugh>

It's worse than the politics thread <laugh>

Not me mate - can't stand them ... but some peeps would rather get an excel upgrade than watch a game ...

There is no fair play - there never has been - the clubs that spend the most win the most - do they? - well give me a lobotomy and change my name to Denizen Daft - the spend to honours equation is especially true when it comes to winning league titles (with a couple of notable exceptions) ...

So tell you what - let's introduce measures that we'll call 'fair play' that make football less competitive and inhibit the development of clubs with ambitious, incredibly rich, owners ...<doh>

Tbf mate I've seen you quoting reams of numbers trying to defend Lesta as much as anyone trying to criticise it. You're all bonkers <laugh>

You only got into the PL in the first place by overspending and fiddling accounts when you were in the Championship.

You should be stripped of that title and it should be handed to the team who finished second.....

Arsenal <wah>

I'm not defending my club against breaking the parameters that have been imposed mate - not one bit - if there are technicalities that the lawyers can exploit, fair enough, give them a go ... otherwise guilty as charged ...

What I'm having a pop at is the concept off FFP and 'sustainability' as applied to footie in the first place and the myths behind it's introduction...

Bring in spending caps on transfers and wages but we're going to exclude infrastructure costs from outlay restrictions even though they are likely to dwarf the former ... and even though they all have to be met from the same financial pot ... what utter contrived bollocks - who does that benefit?

I'm sure Spurs new ground, Liverpool's extended stands and United needing what's looking like a complete refurbishment of Old Trafford had nothing to do with permitted exclusion thinking ... <laugh>

Football is a business ... unfortunately but it is - but in no other business I can think of are investors prohibited in investing or have their investment funds inhibited in terms of the area of the business they seek to improve ...

The whole thing makes the Premier League less competitive... those that think otherwise are either in cloud cuckoo land or support the Big 6 and don't want to have more competition for CL etc ...

Just my opinion of course ...<laugh>
