I think it's just ridiculous - I get why the rules are in place, and I agree to a degree with punishment, but we also should remember this is a sport that actively promotes gambling or certainly it's enormous amounts of tv money does. I'm anti gambling hence I don't bet, and I've seen first hand the damage it does to people, but the rules are a mockery. We are talking about a worldwide ban on the guy plying probably his only trade. Whille other people within the sport and especially within governing bodies get away with all sorts of shhite including corruption. Funniest part is I can't believe Newcastle allowed themselves to be stitched up like this. I would imagine they are fully within their rights to sack their player, afterall what good is he now?
