I never forget the season we played in L1 with Leeds and we got relegated. We looked to have secured safety, or so we thought! We had three games remaining and two of the final three were against the toughest opposition....

We beat Leeds at home 3-2

We drew against Southampton at home, possibly something like 2-2

So we was going into the last game away at Wycombe on a high, we thought we would defo get something, even if we didn't there was a bout five other teams that all had to win to send us down, guess what happened next lol...

We lost 5-0, and the other five teams won, and we went down on goal difference. I was gutted, I'd never ever been so gutted supporting my pile of crap.

From experience when you’re down fighting against relegation it’s best just to go down so you can rebuild and come back stronger. You’re only delaying the inevitable.

Forest, Southampton, Leicester, Everton, Leeds. The teams that stay up will only be doing the same next season. It’s best just to get it over and done with.

The mans right. I was at the game when we dropped into the old 2nd division and was gutted at the time.
The truth is that we came back as champions at the first attempt playing great watchable football and never looked back, after a few years of dross that was a great re-set.

Worked for us twice.

Just bouncing about above the drop zone is delaying the inevitable. Everton haven't got any money and they need about 12 players, the **** they gonna do next season anyway?

They'll do **** all while that chairman is at the club. He's been a disaster for them.

Nice shiny new stadium for the Championship which will only be half full.

True unfortunately.

If we go down though it's no big deal.

As in it really is a big deal but I'm saying it's not cos that's what geezers do on here <laugh>

Any one of the clubs that go down this season should be favourites to come back up - look at the 2 automatic promotions this season - the parachute payments give a vastly unfair advantage to clubs getting relegated ...
