Italians seemed a bit clueless up front

woke up in 2nd half

Gnonto was good when he came on for them

Kalvin Philips didn’t make me think

‘that’s why he gets picked’

Harry Kane MOTM…linked everything upfront

I was going though the Italian players and I was Pelligrini (Roma) fook off, Spinazzola (Roma) fook off as well, Gnoto (Leeds) don't even think about it kid. <laugh>

Not much substitution action.

Hate to sound cliched and that, but it remains a Gareth problem. World Cup semi final, Euro's final, World Cup quarters. Same same.

Doesn't make descisions early and significantly enough. This will always be a problem.

Agree

Don't think Gareth reads the game well enough to make a decision from the touch line, like who can come on and make a difference, what's the problem area etc. He just stands there, looking sour, arms crossed.

He knows they're a talented bunch and if he sets them up defensive they can sometimes pop in a goal and won't concede many. If it doesn't work? They're ****ed.

Proper game of international football that with some great stuff from England first half and then showing good character to hold on for the win.

Let's face it club football just can't compete when the big nations get it on.

Man U v Liverpool...yeh whatever just give me England/Brazil/Argentina/ France/Spain/Holland/Germany etc etc.

Beat us in the final with an offside goal and a foul on the goalkeeper, where was VAR when it was really needed

of course, they faced your lot in the final.

Took them 3 games to beat us, we were crammed in like sardines, wouldn't be allowed today, I honestly remember thinking close the gates ffs.

Remember playing Arsenal at Filbert Street in the FA Cup back in the 70s ... there were 39,000 in the ground and the standing areas were so packed that people just couldn't move a step in any direction ... today's health & safety would have been freaking out <laugh>

Our game was in 1984 against Everton, Hillsborough wasn't until 1989 so as you say they would freak out today.

My lot had players such as Tony Cascarino and Steve Bruce in the line up for that game. Hard to believe that line up then was only a division three team.

Yeh I felt like that a bit recently <laugh>

When it comes to international football I love the tournaments. Qualifiers are same old same old and unfortunately we rarely play many of the teams you've listed. We'll probably top the group because they're all rather **** and we're more than capable of beating them all. Can't wait for the league to be back tbh.
