Very similar parallels to Solskjaer, I mentioned it the other day.

As Solskjaer should have been given the elbow after the Europa League debacle, as it was patently obvious he didn't have the skills to go any further, so should Southgate after the similar debacle in the Euro's final.

Be a waste this world cup as we'll go backwards.

He can't really be sacked as he's done his job so far, but now would be a good opportunity to give an actual top manager the position for the world cup.

Won't happen though, obviously.

The funny thing is, you can see exactly the same traits in the style of football.

Endless sideways and backward passes, usually at the sight of any opposition player in front of them. Relying on individual brilliance (which aint in great abundance) to try to create something.

Not as much resorting to long balls under Ole though so I'd give him that.

There's goals in this for England, get a fast mobile striker on with Foden and sterling and we would be ahead already.
Tony would be my pick but Abraham could do the job too.

Sterling is fast and mobile mate, he just can't score. <laugh>

Yeh we can score, but we don't seem to have a midfield at all. All our attacks bypass it completely, either over the top or out wide.

Fine against this pretty average Germany side, but in the WC we're going to be ripped apart.

Yep, Rice is ok at what he does but i have never seen Bellingham look anything but poor.
We need a playmaker to get things moving.

I reckon Southgate has a master plan - it's to fool everyone that England are shhite, and that he don't know what he's doing in the run up to the world cup. I know this sounds as ridiculous as me backing the Tories, but trust me, it's coming home!

If England had a Modric or de Bruyne we’d likely have had a few goals tonight via their creativity.

Although saying that, Southgate would’ve just played them at RWB and told them they can’t go beyond the half way line.

Like a Muhammed Ali rope-a-dope against Foreman. Southgate's been watching Rumble In The Jungle. It's defo coming home!
