She has very little power other than ceremonial duties like swearing in the PM and closing parliament and stuff.

yep. Has no power here. Just ceremonial. But as head of commonwealth she had some sway, also head of the worlds oldest charity via commonwealth
Modern day Presidents do nothing at all different. And everyone on here will just beel about the choice anyway.

It’s still an outdated institution that represents the very worst of excessive wealth and privilege over us, who are referred to as subjects. It also represents the worst form of succession, by blood and family. No accountability to the people they are supposed to represent and no say in who represents us.
I happen to think Liz Windsor has done a good job of her role. But the very institution itself is un democratic and belongs in history.

It's a **** ton of work for something that will only further cause debate and division in a country crammed with too much debate and division.
It's a lot of effort for someone to say "see, now we are modern" and would have absolutely no meaningful impact on normal people's lives except creating more elections, which people already hate.
