He got carded for that Saka had just done him and he just wasn't having it.I said in the first half or certainly alluded to, that was why Trippier was the better choice ahead of Saka, because they wouldn't be able to bully and cheat Trippier as easy. That's no disrespect to Saka, just two completely different personalities and an age difference of a decade. At that moment in the game I'm sure both the Italian CB's were on yellow cards.

Such a statement though, **** you young un.
Exactly. He's like and where do you think you are going yer cheeky little fooker.

Not quite sure I get you...you're saying if Trippier had been the one to have just nipped past Chiellini like Saka had done, then Trippier wouldn't have allowed Chiellini to grab his shirt? That the shirt grab only happened because Saka was young and being bullied? Chiellini would have seen it was Trippier and chosen not to do that grab for some obscure reason??I said in the first half or certainly alluded to, that was why Trippier was the better choice ahead of Saka, because they wouldn't be able to bully and cheat Trippier as easy. Trippier wouldn't have had the audacity of youth that allows you to skin Chiellini. Not quite sure I get you...you're saying if Trippier had been the one to have just nipped past Chiellini like Saka had done, then Trippier wouldn't have allowed Chiellini to grab his shirt? Damn. Seconds and that would have been epic.
Age old problem mate. Police use to be the target of football fans, but they've been removed long since from the game, to be replaced by the yellow and orange jacket brigade - and although they are useful for peaceful supporters, they are left wanting when trouble arises. They probably not trained to the level required or have legal authority to do much anyway. The cheap option, compared to the expense of proper policing.
It also shouldn't go unmentioned that we've also generated a game that is no longer affordable for many, so I'm very careful before casting judgement on those rushing the gates. Have we learned lessons from Hillsborough, I've always argued we haven't. People in sections they shouldn't be, blocking aisles. I'd be very concerned if I was running Wembley and so should the whole of the football governing bodies.
If we got fined for booing an anthem I would expect a big hammer coming our way in staging any future events. Unless those governing bodies are as blind as they are to racism. Promise to sort these problems but never do.

The players did themselves proud imo.
Southgate has done well with England. I think he is a good bloke but as a manager I find his football boring but tbh if he had won last night no one would have given a ****. Glad he is staying on for the world cup...could well do well again but am glad he ain't the spurs manager cos watching that week in week out would be tedious.
As far as the racist ****ers go I genuinely despair. I grew up in the 70s and hoped that the racism I faced would have gone by time my kids came along. They are now adults but the racist **** just carries on.
****ing depressing tbh...but it ain't a football thing...it's the world we live in.
The fans getting violent is also just a reflection of some of the ****e in society.
Thought that some of the community spirit at the beginning of covid might lead to a kinder world but guess not.
But at least we can keep humming Sweet Carolina and look forward to mid August.
