What do you mean, then what happened! Promoted from League One, promoted from the Championship, then ninth in the Prem in their first season (I think). Ninth....you know, those dizzy heights Newcastle never get to see.

... and then the owners started ****ing him around ...

He got relegated after spending money and nufc have finished in the top 8 including 2nd 3rd and 4th I think 11 times from 15 before Ashley.. We've had plenty of managers and is prefer a younger manager thats got more than one example of coaching a style of play.. The names irrelevant to me and if I see a catastrophic relegation it puts me off and so does Eddie Howe, but I'd prefer him to wilder.

Wilder linked to replace Sam at WBA. Be perfect to bring them back up and play the way their fans want.

Good morning Tel, mate. Will be an interesting one. We are generally much better away (although the home wins against Chelsea and Liverpool are up there with our best performances).

With Maddison Barnes and now Pereira out we have lost a significant amount of our creativity, but the Vardy / Iheanacho partnership has really taken off and the latter's finishing over the last few games has been superb.

All to play for, including the possibility of one of us being the first team to score double figures in a cup final ... should Southampton make it. <whistle>

Hoping for an entertaining game at the very least. <cheers>

Can’t remember the last time we lost away domestically tbh, but all good things must come to an end.

Whoever wins is guaranteed Chelsea in the Semi Final btw, there’s no way the FA will let City have a tough tie before a final.

Well maybe after Rodgers you'd take him

We'll have to cut our cloth mate ... but given the TV listing today "Gary Lineker hosts today's FA Cup Q/F between Premiership heavyweights Leicester City and Manchester United ... " I suspect Rdgers replacement to be more in that 'heavyweight' category than one to avoid relegation / gain promotion ... you just have to cut your cloth <cheers>

I agree, but I don't want wilder.. I believe nufc can do better.. I'd rather go with Eddie Howe.. The original post was levelled at idea that nufc fans expect to finish in the top 6.. Its absolute nonsense. It quite simple the footballs ****e, we've only seen a win twice in 20 games and we care just like all fans at all clubs..

The Championship is a really hard league to get out of ... but managers like Pulis, Warnock and Wilder know what's needed ... look at how Cardiff have taken off under Mick McCarthy ... you need to cut your cloth and all that ... <cheers>

If Pulis or Warnock ever got the Saints job, I’d set fire to St Mary’s, just to watch it burn.

There are no tough ties for City in English football <ok>

Possibly... You just never know after the 1 relegations so far we've bounced back.. Ashley gets his checkbook out then... Tbh he has actually spent under Bruce( more than nufc ever had in 2 windows) it's just that himself and Charnley seem to get so many things wrong. I can see why he doesn't like spending because when he does the scouts, the manager and even the tea lady get it all wrong.

Look at the last decade, Hull, Sunderland, Leeds, three clubs with big fan bases, all came down for a taste of lower league footie. Add to that list, Sheffield United, Norwich City, Southampton, Wigan....I could go on.

Many like you thought they would bounce straight back, very few did. I think it's taken Sunderland 3 seasons to get out of L1
, it took Sheffield United 2 seasons, it might have taken the saints 2. That's with parachute payments as well!

Don't want to worry you or nowt. <whistle>
