I can remember watching the World Cup Final in 66 - on a black and white telly.
also remember later going to the pictures to watch the film, and it being in colour and being very upset about that.
I still have the mascot from 66, the World Cup Willie which is a miniature lion on a ball bearing so it rolled about !

I’m not sure if living in Kent was the reason, but the schools always got Wembley tickets for the schoolboy games. I must have gone to 3 or 4 whilst at school.

Your entire team literally celebrated a draw vs WBA in front of Dole Mountain.
FA cup final used to be so exciting on the Telly. Watching the players’ coaches driving to Wembley and the whole build up before the game. Proper spectacle.
Then seeing the brass band on the pitch before the teams came out and old Lizzy W herself in the stands to present the trophy.
Both BBC and ITV dedicated a whole day’s broadcast to that back in the day.
