You could go and watch Hull.
Means a journey mate. I do have a few workmates at York who support Hull, but most of them live east of Selby way. Nah, for the matchday thing I think I'll do York.

You'd be surprised how many people from York go on day trips to Hull...It wasn’t an entirely serious suggestion.

Bit generic, but it's not bad, is it? You can do your shopping while you're there...

Not been there yet, but yeah, it's in a ubiquitous retail park....
Bootham Crescent was a real old stadium with good pubs all around it. But I took it for granted when it was on my doorstep.![]()

I can't blame the pandemic. Even the last derby I went to (5 years ago), I went with red and blue family members to Anfield by car, and was picked up by my nephew after the game and driven straight to the station. I would NEVER have gone to a match in the 70's and 80's without going for a pint first, and several after. Had more pints before and after the match when I last went to see York City with a local mate than I have done in the last two decades of occasionally going to the game as I do now. It's become more of a televisual habit than the participation thing it was back then, and that film Tobes talks about brings it all back.
I swear that from next season I'm deffo getting off my arse and going to see more York games, but in truth they've moved grounds now to the 'burbs, when they played for years half a mile away from my house, but I rarely went. Yes, as I ramble on I'm trying to saw it chokes me watching that film and remembering when I was a real fan who went to real games with real mates. Don't miss the real hangovers though.![]()

Crikey, the other way around - especially when we were tier two last summer. ****ing trains were heaving with Geordies, Smogies, Hullies and even Mancs pretending to travel to York to buy their grannies' medication in the 'Spoons outside the station.
Got to love the boozer run in York. That first weekend will be carnage, don’t want to be stuck behind some **** ordering a 20 pornstar martini tree!
Should be pints and shots only that weekend. Always got to end the day with a station pint.
Above... A fine example of zero credibilityLots of beef between sucky and the evertonians considering he's a ****in fulham fan
Man dont even watch the kopites
